For me, it would have to be Howard The Duck, though Warlock II is a close second.

7. I agree. The first Ring was incredible.
You would think that with Hideo Nakata directing (he did the original "Ringu"), it would have been decent at the very least, but it was pretty damn bad.

Highlander 2: The Quickening (The Suckening)
I was confused going in to the theater. The whole "there can be only one" thing made me wonder "how in the hell are they going to be able to do a sequel?"
Then I found out: the writers didn't care about continuity. They didn't care about anything.
I left the theater more confused, (and just a bit angry) than when I entered.

But I caught it on VHS a few months later, and I had much the same experience that you had.

26. Thank you!
I thought I was the only person in the world who correctly identified the 1989 Burton monstrosity as the piece of shit that it is. For close to two decades I've had to deal with knuckleheads who praise its cinematography and "gritty" atmosphere--bullshit!

I saw it not long ago on television, and I'd call it very close to unwatchable.

99. Geek Warning
I read Frank Miller's Dark Knight Returns and when they hit the newsstand, and these greatly influenced my vision of what Batman should be. When Burton's schlock oozed onto the screen, I immediately saw it as a piece of garbage, and nothing I've heard, read, or seen since that time has made me think otherwise.

Pro: Jack Nicholson as the Joker

Con: Everything else

Specifically:
The Elfman score
Michael Keaton (a fine actor, but miscast here)
Robert Wuhl
Commissioner Gordon (another fine actor, but miscast)
The Prince soundtrack. 'Nuff said.

Awful, awful, awful.

I don't see many first-run movies. (I don't see too many movies period.) But I thought I could trust a Robin Williams vehicle about an idiosyncratic, iconoclastic, wacky doctor.

It was purest saccharine, complete with computer generated butterfly. I say, let Williams be Williams!

88. Hear, hear!
The true stories of those who died were so much more interesting than the amateur-level fiction (I wrote better dreck in middle school!) and yet they ended up in the background, like the elderly couple who preferred to die together in their cabin instead of trying to escape--they merited one 15-second (unexplained) scene. Humph. Read a good nonfiction book or watch a documentary about the disaster, or rent A Night to Remember. Anything but the Leo and Kate crapfest! (And I usually LIKE Kate!)

And thanks for the welcome! :hi:

144. I rented that wretched movie
and quit watching because it was so horrendous. Oh, those wonderful, lovable rednecks in Alabama. They're so superior to those horrid people from the Northeast. This movie is part of the whole Bushian anti-intellectualism good ole boy schtick. Wonderful Candace Bergen was cast as a hateful "Hillary". She must be destroyed...she's a strong woman from the Northeast! And the message for women? Barefoot and pregnant is the road to happiness. No handsome fiancee (Patrick Dempsey no less...oh, yeah, that's bad) and a career. No, you can only be happy with the rough around the edges backwoods guy with the squinty eyes. Don't know the actor's name. Or care. Did Pat Robertson have script approval?

54. "Can I Do It 'Til I Need Glasses?"---Robin Williams
Edited on Wed Jun-14-06 12:32 PM by NewWaveChick1981
:puke: Robin Williams was in it for like two whole minutes and got top billing. I think he did the cameo for drug money...:P That was a real suckass movie. :eyes: And my friends and I paid full admission price. Boy, did we get ripped off!

69. I'd say
You are too smart to get the whole Wim Wenders thing. That movie was one long insult to my intelligence and my sense of poetry. "In the beginning was the child, and the child was like a child that thought of a child that ate pizza..." or something like that. Give me the video to "I want to love you tender" any day, at least it ended before my brain shut down.

I saw it on DVD, so I can't pick it.

Bad, bad Conan ripoff, involving a hero you wielded a three bladed sword that would shoot two of those blades. Yeah, it stunk. It was so bad that I couldn't even find it funny, just pissed that I had spent good money on the damn thing. Luckily, the film bombed so badly that the promised sequel was never made.

they invented an enemy you feel absolutely no pity for.

If you read Hitler's stuff on propaganda, that movie follows it to the letter.

I saw both Gattaca and Starshit Poopers. Lemme tell ya, you got the better end of that deal.

I read Starship Troopers, wanted to see the movie because of it, and was very disappointed with the results.

I mean, c'mon, Doogie Houser as a psychic in an SS trench coat, puts his hand on a captured brain bug that's surrounded by a hundred gun toting marines and is able to, psychically, figure out that...

... It's... AFRAID!!!!

movies like gattaca are better on a dvd home theatre, whereas something with the action of a starship troopers is better seen on the big screen.

Edited on Wed Jun-14-06 02:14 PM by jobycom
I can see not liking Krull, it's far from the best movie ever made, but in terms of acting, consistency of plot, special effects, and everything else, Krull is an average film with some individual charm.

Yor has bad acting, worse writing, terrible special effects--they don't even hide the cables things dangle from, and in the beginning opening shot you can clearly see a telephone pole in the prehistoric landscape.

Some people don't get the difference between films they don't like, and truly bad films, judging by this list.

(On edit: I was laughing as I wrote this, but on rereading, the humor isn't as obvious. Please don't take it as serious@!)
