DU's poll system is an embaressment!
Members shouldn't be able to see the results until they vote.

1. Why?
Seeing how others voted doesn't change how I vote.

5. That may not be true for everyone
I think it skews the results over 100 people

2. ?????????????????????????????
Member-created DU polls are about as unscientific as you can get. They are just for fun. Surely you realize this?

6. Thanks for insulting my intelligence.
Yeah I understand polling.

These polls are an intersting way to see what people think on DU and you can get out a message by the way you frame your poll.

It's called : "push polling".

There, now hopefully we are even.

20. yes, but push polling can serve a purpose too, biased but a purpose
and voting is a choice. Interesting to see who votes and what they have to say about it also.

23. Wow... are you having a really bad day?

You provided no context nor explanation to your subject line. I responded, assuming you were serious and not sarcastic. Others had no clue what you were trying to say either. No one was insulting you, just trying to figure out what you were trying to say. Why the enormous chip on your shoulder?

(from your reaction, you'd think I'd commented on your spelling--which I did not, assuming it was merely a typo)

3. Yes. Heaven forbid anonymous people on the Internet be swayed by
how many people have selected "less filling" vs. "tastes great" before they decide.

:wtf:

Online polling is nonscientific; online polling in membership-based communities is even more so. What's it matter?

10. But WHY is it non-scientific?
I mean, where better to find a group of people who actually WILL vote in the Democratic primaries to see who they favor?

It's better than the 600 people the corporate media calls randomnly and labels as "likely" voters to get their take on non-issues.

4. 'Embaressment' is an embarassment.
The average poll on DU is just for fun anyway. And on that note, Robb is a dingbat.

Like, a poll that allows commentary below it has a chance of not swaying votes.

22. That's the way most message board software's polling works, actually.
But more importantly: Who really gives a shit?
