2. Didn't know about that. Sorry. Thanks for voting and posting.
Back on the subject of Cade, though, I did find this which is one of my favorite Original Posts ever.

15. Did all the characters crossing back and forth from Green Acres
to the Beverly Hillbillies to Pettycoat Junction and so on ever disturb you?

It bothered me. I didn't hold all those characters as being in the same referential totality.

But Uncle Joe on Cade's County I could somehow tolerate. I guess it's because I was older and had grown to accept things a bit better. And they called him something else on Cade's County.

18. I could really say a lot about this as I agree with you.
Sam Drucker I could handle as having one foot in each of the two worlds of PJ and GA. Where PJ was pure corn, Green Acres was really like, I don't know, some kind of Through the Looking Glass bucolic Dada wet-dream. There was no objective reality. Maybe it all took place in Lisa Douglas's Park Avenue snow-globe. Maybe Oliver was in a coma or purgatory. The Beverly Hillbillies needed the real world in order to be successfully out of step with it. It was a funny time in the United States. You could almost believe places like Sam Drucker's and the Shady Rest still existed somewhere. But by the time Mr. Drysdale and Miss Hathaway were showing up in PJ and Aunt Kate kept saying things like, and now here's a song from our own Steve Elliott, a kid could tell that things were slipping way out of joint.

There was an episode of Lost in Space, one of my favorites, where Will is beamed back to Grover's Corner, VT or some such place. Setting aside many, many things as this is Lost in Space, after all, it doesn't quite work that they put Will in this Norman Rockwell "aw gee, aw shucks" small town--and it was supposed to be 1997.

Now the Wild Wild West--there was a series that obeyed its own internal logic.

that a Kincaid could have.

And I mean sensible in a good sense. Good like sensible shoes.

On edit: very pretty, stylish, even kicky sensible shoes, of course.
