How come?
Edited on Fri Jun-16-06 04:27 PM by texas1928
Do we press harder on a remote control when we know the batteries are
getting weak?

Why do banks charge a fee on "insufficient funds" when they know there
is not enough?

Why does someone believe you when you say there are four billion stars,
but check when you say the paint is wet?

Why doesn't glue stick to the bottle?

Why do they use sterilized needles for death by lethal injection?

Why doesn't Tarzan have a beard?

Why does Superman stop bullets with his chest, but ducks when you throw
a revolver at him?

Why do Kamikaze pilots wear helmets?

Whose idea was it to put an "S" in the word "lisp"?

Why is it that no matter what color bubble bath you use the bubbles are
always white?

Is there ever a day that mattresses are not on sale?

Why do people constantly return to the refrigerator with hopes that
something new to eat will have materialized?

Why do people keep running over a string a dozen times with their
vacuum cleaner, then reach down, pick it up, examine it, then put it down to
give the vacuum one more chance?

Why is it that no plastic bag will open from the end on your first try?

How do those dead bugs get into those enclosed light fixtures?

Why is it that whenever you attempt to catch something that's falling
off the table you always manage to knock something else over?

In winter why do we try to keep the house as warm as it was in summer
when we complained about the heat?

How come you never hear father-in-law jokes?

Why do we park on a driveway, and drive on a parkway?

3. Because pressing harder on the remote squeezes the last bit of electricity
out of the batteries. Everybody knows this. :P

5. It works better if you shake it as well.
makes the electricity run out of the batteries.

7. And if all that fails
if you take the battery cover off and just rotate the batteries around a little, you can access the emergency reserve power. :D

8. Change the batteries around,
and it'll work well for a long time again. True.

Oh, and the kamikaze pilots did wear helmets (if you consider a leather cap a helmet) because the communication system was in there (headphones and mic.)

10. That's true
you can do that if gently rotating them fails. :D

15. Does your remote get so weak
that it only works if pointed between 89 and 91 degrees at the TV?

9. It is from the old Black and white TV show.
He would stand and take a bullet in the chest and then duck when the bad guy threw the empty gun at him.

12. Superman didn't have to...
...but actor George Reeve did, being immune to neither real bullets nor hurled props.

one, or Gallagher...

"If crime fighters fight crime, and fire fighters fight crime, what do freedom fighters fight?" its really not in theme with your thread, but it recalled this memory...:)
