7855 miles later.....
Just got back from my road trip yesterday. 3 weeks, 27 states, 7855 miles. Went to Yellowstone, saw my daughter married in Minnesota, visited family and friends in Vermont, went to Manassas battlefield in Virginia, drove through some gorgeous country, got caught in two hailstorms, one downpour while in a tent, some major heat, had some great adventures and survived it all with no problems.

Had a ball, didn't miss the computer at all while I was gone... what did I miss?

4. Well, yes, of course I did!
But I did meet a DU'er in Idaho Falls - he saw my bumper sticker and came over to say hi. Wouldn't say what his username was, though.

It was pretty cool - I have an "Impeach Bush" sticker, my DU sticker, a "No W" sticker (the kind with the W with the red circle and line over it) and my "Somewhere in Texas, a village is missing its idiot" sticker on my car. Drove through a lot of places, got some odd looks but no comments except positive ones. A lot of positive ones, in a lot of places. (Some of my friends were afraid I'd get in trouble with the stickers).

Thanks for the welcome! :hi:

3. Welcome back!
Sounds like a great trip!

Let's see...what did you miss... Aristus was on Jeopardy. Wesley locked the kudzu thread, and Hedges started a new one.

Oh, and we're a little short on posters named DS1 lately.

That's about it.

6. The kudzu thread was locked?!
Damn! I miss everything!

Dare I ask why we're DS1-less? :hide:

10. You can still visit kudzu 2.0
but, alas, the original is lost to the ages.

And, uh, no. I don't know the 'why' of it, just that the pizza was served.

7. Exhilarating
I kept a journal of the whole thing, with all the adventures noted. This is my third cross-country driving road trip and I've made two hitchhiking ones as well. Best way to see the country, if you ask me. :hi:

11. The driving, right? You don't want to hitchhike these days.
I'll bet you stayed on the small roads. It's amazing how much America there still is out there if you do that.

9. Thank you
My life has always seemed like a movie, though I'm now so damn old it would have to be a mini-series. One of these days, if I ever stop moving, I'll sit down and write it. ;)
