Confess: Most embarrasing song in your collection.
My list is endless but I was just listening to Key Largo by Bertie Higgins.

1. Its called the Baka song...
Edited on Sun Jun-18-06 04:36 AM by scoey1953
Baka in Japanese means "Idiot"or "Stupid" anyway its a very bad
insult in Japan...But I love this song,
but would never bring it to class or 100 yards
of my teachers....LOL!!

2. " Holiday Road " - Lindsey Buckingham
The theme song from National Lampoon's Family Vacation. The one where the Griswolds go to WallyWorld. I freaking LOVED that movie when I was a kid :)

6. 99 miles from LA by Johnny Mathis
My parents both loved Johnny Mathis when I was growing up, so now his songs remind me of being a small child. As I get older, the nostalgia factor in music plays a bigger and bigger part.

26. I have an entire CD: "The Hard Corps"
Every song on it is undescribably horrible. It was one of the earliest attempts at blending rap with (non-prerecorded) hard rock. I bought it just for curiosity's sake, and at the time I thought the group was pretty brave for attempting that particular experimentation.

It's really, really bad though.

27. Honey~Bobby Goldsboro

See the tree, how big it's grown
But friend it hasn't been too long
It wasn't big
I laughed at her and she got mad
The first day that she planted it, was just a twig
Then the first snow came
And she ran out to brush the snow away
So it wouldn't die
Came runnin' in all excited
Slipped and almost hurt herself
And I laughed till I cried
She was always young at heart
Kinda dumb and kinda smart and I loved her so
And I surprised her with a puppy
Kept me up all Christmas Eve two years ago
And it would sure embarrass her
When I came in from workin' late
'Cause I would know
That she'd been sittin' there and cryin'
Over some sad and silly late, late show

And honey, I miss you
And I'm bein' good
And I'd love to be with you
If only I could

She wrecked the car and she was sad
And so afraid that I'd be mad
But what the heck
Though I pretended hard to be
Guess you could say she saw through me
And hugged my neck
I came home unexpectedly
And caught her cryin' needlessly
In the middle of the day
And it was in the early Spring
When flowers bloom and robins sing
She went away

And honey, I miss you
And I'm bein' good
And I'd love to be with you
If only I could

One day while I was not at home
While she was there and all alone
The angels came
Now all I have is memories of Honey
And I wake up nights and call her name
Now my life's an empty stage
Where Honey lived and Honey played
And love grew up
And a small cloud passes overhead
And cries down on the flower bed
That Honey loved

And see the tree how big it's grown
But friend it hasn't been too long
It wasn't big
And I laughed at her and she got mad
The first day that she planted it, was just a twig

Got a mess of Carpenters songs on my iPod  (can I hide behind the excuse that my dear departed dad loved them?)

As for vinyl...can't believe I'm going to admit this...but...I won a Xanadu soundtrack album (and two tickets to the movie!) in a radio call-in contest way back when. I kept the album. I actually like the tunes! Flame away...

SHANNON
WORDS AND MUSIC BY HENRY GROSS
@1976 BLENDINGWELL, ASCAP

ANOTHER DAY IS AT END
MAMA SAYS SHE'S TIRED AGAIN
NO ONE CAN EVEN BEGIN TO TELL HER

I HARDLY KNOW WHAT TO SAY
BUT MAYBE IT'S BETTER THAT WAY
IF PAPA WERE HERE I'M SURE HE'D TELL HER

SHANNON IS GONE I HOPE SHE'S DRIFTING OUT TO SEA
SHE ALWAYS LOVED TO SWIM AWAY
MAYBE SHE'LL FIND AN ISLAND WITH A SHADY TREE
JUST LIKE THE ONE IN OUR BACKYARD

MAMA TRIES HARD TO PRETEND THINGS WILL GET
BETTER AGAIN
SOMEHOW SHE'S KEEPING IT ALL INSIDE HER

BUT FINALLY THE TEARS FILL OUR EYES
AND I KNOW THAT SOMEWHERE TONIGHT
SHE KNOWS HOW MUCH WE REALLY MISS HER

SHANNON IS GONE I HOPE SHE'S DRIFTING OUT TO SEA
SHE ALWAYS LOVED TO SWIM AWAY
MAYBE SHE'LL FIND AN ISLAND WITH A SHADY TREE
JUST LIKE THE ONE IN OUR BACKYARD
