As much as I hate the idea of forced sterilization...
I just ran into the best candidate ever.

I was eating dinner in a Brazilian barbecue restaurant. If you've never been in one, it's a salad bar and then waiters walk around with different kinds of meat on skewers and carve off as much as you like.

So this woman comes in with two boys- maybe four and six, plops down in a chair and immediately starts blathering into her cell phone. The kids were instantly bored and too short to reach the salad bar so they start doing windsprints and screaming up the middle of the aisle where waiters are walking up and down carrying ten pounds of meat on two pronged skewers in one hand and a foot long carving knife in the other. There's only one aisle so they're tripping customers coming back from the salad bar, tripping waitresses carrying drinks, and tripping waiters carrying the aforementioned *foot long fucking knives*.

Over the course of ten minutes four different waitresses and finally the manager came over to tell this woman to keep her kids at her table and for Chrissakes feed them something so they would shut up. She tried a series of lame excuses like they were just going to the salad bar but neither one of them had gone near it. Finally, the manager came over and threatened to throw her out of the restaurant at which point she finally finished her cell phone call, walked over and smacked one of the kids over the head and then stormed out of the restaurant without paying (or eating anything) dragging both kids by the upper arms.

God help us all if this one ever tries for number three. At least the likelyhood of her kids reaching maturity and contributing to the gene pool is pretty slim.

1. I'll probably get flamed for this but,
People have to get education/training/degrees and/or licenses to drive, to hunt, to practice various professions and so on. Considering all that goes into raising children it would be prudent to have some form of education/training required of all potential parents. A basic "Parenting skills 101" could even be a class for seniors to take in high school.

3. That is an optional course at my high school. Not exactly that,
but a parenting class thingy. (On a slght off-topic, I don't think I should need to get a licence to hunt, but I understand the driving).

5. Hunting licenses help game officials set bag limits
and help pay for refuges and research.

6. Makes sense
You have to have a license to get your rifle -- OK.

You have to hunt in an explicitly hunting-allowed area -- also OK.

With these two in place, there's no need for a license specifically for hunting.

8. yea, but I also think that if I'm on my property, I shouldn't need to

have a license to hunt or anything. I should be able to hunt whenever or whatever I want if it's on my property. I also think the system for licensing guns is fucked too. I think you should have a minor background check, but I think you should have to take a course on weapon safety and how to operate a firearm before you can get your permit.

10. Doubt it'd help
I don't think there are many 18 year olds who could really grok a parenting skills class. It would devolve into how to change diapers, and infant cpr and things like that. All important stuff, but I highly doubt you could get through to them how to handle their children effectively in public.

The solution? I don't know.

But it's too late for him. Grrr :grr: Some people like to see misery passed down from generation to generation.

11. I hope you still hate the idea of forced sterilization.
I sort of think sterilizing people against their will is a much bigger imposition than being forced to be in the presence of rowdy kids.

14. I wonder what would have happened
if this mom & kids lived in prehistoric times?
The other cavepeople or villagers would probably get so annoyed that they would chase them out of the cave or village, where they would be all alone in the wilderness and get eaten by wild animals. Just a guess.
