A glimpse of the Future: The English Language 30 years from now
Based on current trends:

there -- will replace once and for all both "their" and "they're"

"your" and "You're" will be likewise unified and spelled "ur"

"so" will be the only adverb (not counting the variants "sooo" and "soooooooo")

the word "said" will be replaced by "all like" eg. "so he's all like 'no I'm not' and I'm all like 'yes you are' "

the word "literally" will be used to alert listeners (or readers) that what ever follows is wild exaggeration

capitalization will cease (thanks to the Blackberry)

1. Heck, it's already worse than that...
the most basic responses in conversational English are now grunts. Think about it

Yes: Uh Huh
No: Uh Uh
I don't know: UuuUUUuuuh (pitch rises in the middle, to simulate a sing-songy "I don't know," often accompanied with a shrug)

2. I think we need to start a movement to preserve consonants.
They're (there?) vanishing at an alarming rate.

As long as some effort is made to incorporate "irregardless" into the lexicon, meaning "really, really regardless."

4. yr not series about yr predictions RU?
Didn't U leave out alot of acronyms & shortcuts?

To my 'yr' makes more sense for "your". 'Ur" just grates on me. Not sure why, but I always read it as "ur" as in "ur-lord" or "ur-grossvater". Why do people use "ur" when "yr" makes so much more sense and is way cooler besides. But you know what's even cooler? yvr.
