I'm quitting my job today.
:scared:

I've been planning to do this for months, and I've got a resignation letter and a verbal speech and all that.

I slept like a baby last night, but I'm shaking and nauseous now.

Wish me luck.

5. I'm starting law school in August!
So, while I don't have a new job, I do have a place to go and a good reason to quit.

6. It's just general anxiety -- I get nervous even though I know it'll be OK
I'm not expecting anger, retribution, getting escorted out of the building (I'm giving the standard-for-my-job month's notice), etc.

It's an irrational nervousness, for sure.

Good luck. Leaving a gig is never easy, even when the place is a torturous shithole, if you don't have a place to immediately go to. Have you found another job or are you breaking ties before that? Are you going to try and stay in your industry, publishing if I remember correctly, or try something new?
