Seething resentment: soul poison, or proof of sentience?
"Harboring grudges is like poisoning yourself in the hope your enemy will fall ill," said my girlfriend's mother.

Horseshit, says Robb.

A grudge, kept for decades, is a good, solid thing. It doesn't need to be in the front of your mind, just a solemn recognition that should the occasion present itself, you will take the opportunity to screw those who messed with you and yours.

It's what separates us from the bears and bugs and clams and things. Never hear of a clam holding a grudge. Or walking on the moon, for that matter.

1. Amen brother. Grudges are the only reason to read the obituaries.

2. Yes indeed.
May the seeds of your harbored grudge grow to fruition and wreak holy hell on the bastards one fine day.
