I think I need to go on a news blackout...
I managed to live almost all of my life without hating anyone. But, since 2000 I find that I hate more and more every year. I hate bush for what he has done to our country. I hate his cronies and repubs who have backed him up and helped him with an unnecessary war and the deaths and maiming of our young men and women. I hate that he has destroyed our reputation all over the world. I hate that he has let large corporations send our jobs over seas and given tax breaks to the rich. I have nothing against legal immigration, but I hate that our government lets illegal immigrants use our taxes for their benefit. I hate that our government is so taken up in unethical practices that they leave our borders unprotected and put our legal citizens in harms way. I hate the lies and propaganda they put out to keep their ignorant followers voting for them. I hate that right wingers are so out of touch, that they really believe that gay marriage will hurt them or their lives in any way.

After hearing about those two soldiers in Iraq this morning, I realized I have hated more in the last six years than in my entire life before 2000. Maybe I should just take a break from the news for awhile. But, I hate to put my head in the sand just because I might feel better.

2. My dear caty.....
Oh, I sure hear you!

It is sooo tempting to retreat from hearing the news.....

But then we need to know what's going on!

And it seems there's no middle ground....

Sometimes I just read the headlines.

3. I've just been to the point of tears all day
since I heard about what happened to those two young men in Iraq. And, I know that every death there has been just as horrible and final. So many dead and injured. Sometimes it is just more sadness than I can handle. Of course, I will still watch the news. Sometimes I feel better when I watch Lou Dobbs. It's nice to hear someone voice opinions that I agree with most of the time.
