Saved a fellow creature lately?

Driving to Crossroads Village near Flint Michigan, we were on a 2-lane about a mile off the freeway and a mile from the village.

I spotted something in the road, middle of the lane, to flat to be a rock. BEAUTIFUL box turtle, about 6" in diameter. Big one.

I dodged it, and the family applauded. So I pulled over, dodged two oncoming cars and picked it up to put it in the bushes (a short tail: female; GREAT! More turtle babies!)

Just as I got ready to set her down, she unloaded about half a pint of piss all over my pants.

I didn't even mind. I love turtles.

1. That's so sweet!

:hug: You're so kind! Hubby and I did that for a small terrapin that was crossing a busy road near our house. Two other people had pulled over to see if they could help, and one guy and Hubby dodged cars to get it. :) They deposited the turtle well away from the road in the direction it was headed. Everyone shook hands and thanked them. :)

4. Good job!

I was driving up the main strip near me...4 lanes 45 mph traffic.
They had just cleared some land for a new shopping center. I notice this
huge turtle trying to cross the road. It was a couple of feet in diameter
and had a long neck and snapped at me. I managed to herd it back to safety,
but it didn't like me. Snappy!
