You'll have a ton to choose from. Many trashing FEMA and the city and state political leadership, many just downright nasty.

8. Can you suggest a few good locations to seek accommodations?

Sugar Smack and I will be there by Thursday. I've found a number of places on-line but I haven't a clue where to begin looking. Maddy McCall will be getting back to us but she's a little busy at the moment.

9. Are you flying in?

If so, you can get a shuttle right to the hotel of your choice. I'd suggest you stay somewhere in the Quarter and avoid Canal Street. The Bourbon Orleans Hotel is an awesome location if your goal is to stroll the quarter and you can go on tours right from your hotel. The Bourbon Orleans hotel is located at the intersection of Bourbon and Orleans Streets, with great bars within seconds. The Bienville house is a comfortable hotel on Decatur Street a few blocks off of Bourbon. The Bienville is almost right across the street from House of Blues. If I may be of further assistance, please let me know.

11. Thank you.

We are driving down. It'll be a first time in that area for both of us.

I'll have my old laptop which connects to the web via an aircard so we can check with mapquest for directions.
I will check for reservations this afternoon when I return from getting an oil change for my truck. It's one of those must_do_things I didn't get around to last week.

12. The hotels have valet parking

It may cost you $15.00 bucks a day. I'd suggest parking the truck and let someone else do the driving. It takes years to learn how to drive in the Big Easy. After a few drinks, a ride in a New Orleans cab could be the highlight of your trip.

Are you coming from the east or west? Will you be on I-10? I might be able to ease your driving misery or at least give you a headsup.
