What kind of a world is it

When I have to hear "Sweet Child O' Mine" at this hour on this day?

Parenthetically--to my utter horror, I heard a cover of that song that was actually more wretched than the original. I wouldn't previously have believed such a thing possible.

My cubemate sits through (and, I daresay, enjoys) almost any crap that his radio vomits forth, as long as it is offensive to the discerning ear. Guns-n-Roses, Donny Iris, Motley Crue, Ted Nugent--it's all good, to him. The louder and shittier the better.

But Young Americans just came on, and he turned the radio off with an audible gasp of disgust! This is the man who'll sit through endless repetition of "Slow Ride," but he can't stomach five minutes of David Bowie?!?!?
