Does anybody know why we'd get an offer to
buy our house? It's not for sale. There are several homes in our neighborhood that are for sale - I'd say 3 to 4, and on the road into our neighborhood, there are another 2, so there are homes in the immediate vicinity for sale. Here is the link to the company who contacted us:

http://www.graniterei.com/about-rei.htm

This is the 2nd time they've sent us a snail mail offer. It bothers me. Don't know if it should, but it does. We just bought the house 4 yrs ago for $240K. Now houses in our neighborhood are easily going for 150K or more above what we paid and sales are already starting ot really slow down. Can't understand it and don't feel comfortable getting those letters.
Has anybody else had this happen?

1. I get offers all the time to buy my house.
A lot of folks in my neighborhood do. It has to do with speculation. I wouldn't worry about it.

3. It's junk mail.

Since you don't want to sell, just toss it with all those unsolicited refi offers.

On edit: they're buyers' agents too -- maybe they have a client who wants to live in your neighborhood but doesn't like the current houses on the market.
