Suggest a job you think BlueIris would be good at.
Come on, get creative. But be honest. I am interested to know what the Lounge thinks I should do next. Just throw it out there. At this point, anyone's input is valuable.

Please note that this is my attempt to be "creative" and that the only thing a person can do for one's self is to do what interests them. Try to follow the advice of sage diva Diana Trent: Live to work. Not work to live.

¿Qué es poesía?, dices, mientras clavas
en mi pupila tu pupila azul,
¡Qué es poesía! ¿Y tú me lo preguntas?
Poesía... eres tú.

Gustavo Adolfo Bécquer.

What is poetry, you say, while you fasten
your blue eye to mine.
What is poetry! And you ask me that?
Poetry is what you are.

17. Well, this question was sort of for those who kinda know me, and
the rest of you can...get creative? I think my search for a full time job these last few months (so I can ditch all my freelance junk) has been a little too narrow. I'm trying to explore possibilities which are even more random than the crap I juggle now.

20. Maybe I should have clarified that I'm not looking for a new career.
Edited on Fri Jun-23-06 03:43 AM by BlueIris
I've already got one that doesn't support me. I support my participation in that career with freelance crap that I "enjoy," but which is getting too complicated to juggle even if it does technically let me survive. I just need to find a day job at which I would be skilled, so I can dump all of my freelance nonsense. Nothing is working out, leading me to believe that I've been looking at the wrong job fields for me. The career counselor I saw three weeks ago disagreed, and said I just needed to keeping searching, but--I'm tired. I thought the Lounge could help a little, and the responses in this thread certainly are interesting.

22. Aw. I'd love to do that, but I can't have the anti-malarial drugs
Edited on Fri Jun-23-06 03:58 AM by BlueIris
they make you take before you can leave the U.S. for that nation. I already have a depressive disorder and it's a "known" thing now that those medications exacerbate those issues--usually permanently. I just re-aligned my neurotransmitters again, I don't want to fuck them up with Mefilquin. So, no Middle East (or Africa) for me. Sucks. But you get points for creativity and for not being obscene/offensive or passive agressively abusive. Thanks for the support.

23. I'd think you're qualified for thousands of different careers...
What you are most interested in is what you should go for first, then jobs in a progression fron there. I retired from E.I. DuPont de Nemours, but that would not have been my first choice.

Before I saw your post I had Hospice in mind as a good job for you... So many hospice workers get burned out and the field is always open.

On edit: I just saw you posted that you wouldn't go back to Healthcare for anything...so scratch this post. :) I think you would be good at anything you set your hand to.

35. Okay, here are some clues given to me
by the psychics I talked to after I started getting really frustrated a couple of weeks back: Near water. A lot of water, maybe an ocean. Involving a lot of lifting or possibly involving being some shadow leader's "puppet" in an organization or company. Does that inspire anyone to make new suggestions?
