There is nothing that annoys me more then these immature brats who think its just dandy to use the word gay as an adjective meaning stupid, dumb, bad, etc.

by pointing out the gays in our circle of family and friends and asking them which ones were stupid.
Since their parents have a very good friend (like an uncle to them) who is gay, it made them realize that it was a hurtful thing to use that term for stupid.

I've always wondered if that usage derived from the older expression "that's queer," which meant queer in the sense of weird (therefore stupid to little kid brains.)

8. Nope. My son was called "gay" for years and it was intended

to humiliate him. Fortunately the school he attended was very responsive to my vigorous complaints. The word "gay" is used to describe any undesirable behavior and/or to comment on sexual orientation. All three of my kids, including the six-year-old, have listened to many lectures on how inappropriate and foolish is the use of the word in any context that isn't entirely respectful.

Raising the next generation the right way. Let's all try it!

10. It's not just kids using it. Last office job with young 28-30-yr old

women using it like regular adverb, "Oh, that is ssooo gay!" I cringed everytime.
