1. I don't really consider that herbal tea because it has green tea in it.
I like kava tea. It knocks me out. I have probably 20 or so teas though.

4. Yogi Tea's Kombucha Green Tea is my favorite.
I also really like Tazo's Om; a combination of green & black teas with peach and cucumber. So good. Sometimes Whole Foods has it on sale for $2.50/box. I stock up then.

I recommend...

Yogi Chai Green Tea
Lapsang Souchong (a smoked tea...any company)
Traditional Medicinal's Kava Stress Release (you get a buzz, then you fall asleep)
Anything by Republic of Tea

6. The teas on our shelves right now
Edited on Sat Jun-24-06 02:35 AM by Heidi
aren't all herbal: plain black tea, Earl Grey, Bengal Spice, Yerba Mate, organic green tea, green tea with lemongrass, fennel, mint, ginger and Christmas green tea. I try to drink two cups of green tea per day; probably should drink more of it, but I'm not too crazy about the taste. :hi:

12. Hello Heidi
I had find a green tea with something else to drink it, this kind with mint taste very good.

I do drink a 14 herb tea which is really good, best to drink before going to bed. This tea makes me so mellow, and then sleepy.

Did you drink ice tea growing up, I drank 2 glasses of it today. I think somedays I will turn into a giant teabag.

I used to drink a lot of it, but stopped for a long time.

I now only allow myself two glasses only, really hard to do.

17. I hardly ever drink iced tea anymore,
unless I'm in a restaurant or something. But I might make a pitcher of sun tea this afternoon. :D It'll be nearly 90° F. here this afternoon, and sun tea over ice, with lemon, sound pretty dang good.

:D

I really do not like 'tea', generally it just doesnt please me.

However, the first time I tried rooibos I was so amazed that there existed such a robust tea that appealed to my earthy nature and satisfied my need for an interesting tea that I had to become a rooibos lover. To me, rooibos is to other teas as Black Butte Porter is to Bud Light. (if you're unfammiliar, Black Butte Porter is a black, syrupy, licorice-y, heavy, woody beer)

I recommend it to everyone I know (both the tea and the beer).

23. I'll pass on the beer if it's licorice-like,
but I do love Rooibos, although I have noticed that it has a slightly anise-like flavor. I don't mind that licorice root/anise flavor in tea, but I can't imagine it in beer. :scared:

25. well, its more of an
overtone than a distinct flavor - more of a note in a chord. any licorice in the beer really comes off on the nose. its good with raw mild garlic, which hangs on the palatte, but theyre somehow complementary.

if you couldnt tell, my life is full of bright, strong, sometimes overwhelming flavors. no sissy stuff for me. :D

Call Me Wesley is an extraordinary main course cook, and I'm the dessert/pastry maker. We have a huge assortment of herbs, spices, etc. around here. We use a lot of fresh garlic in cooking; it's very healthy.

Please note: I am not attempting to re-ignite the DU pressed garlic vs. smashed garlic wars. :D

whole garlic.

never bruise the clove with anything other than your teeth. the clove is sacred!

I usually eat a head per week, though my GF sometimes cant take it and I have to sleep on the couch. garlic cloves are better than nuts with many beers!

Ive been harvesting my garlic scapes all this week. there's way too much to use myself, so all my co-workers are going home with bags full of curly garlic florets! many wives are upset with me tonight

well, I earned a BA in Ag Science and spending 14 hours in a field watching late blight kill tomatoes necessitates eating something. So I started 'harvesting' the research garlic and chard roots when nobody was looking. I seem to have developed a taste for odd things.

Do you have the traditional gourd cups and sippers? We got a set for Christmas from CMW's cousin who's a ski instructor in Argentina! (And a kilo of Yerba Mate, as well.)

Our cups are like this:

33. It's an acquired taste. It is very bitter, so you have to dump a lot
of sugar in it, or you get tough taste buds.

But mate is an experience. It's an active beverage.

Edited on Sat Jun-24-06 03:44 AM by scoey1953
There is a brand of "ocha" or tea called Pu-Erh Tea a tea made by Ten Ren tea company in San Francisco. Its a wonderful black tea that can be made hot, or throw in ice for ice tea. No sugar or lemon needed. By itself is a perfectly delightful tea, and interesting enough, when the Chinese serve it in their restaurants it can also be used to clean up the table, its strong enough for that use. Not strong tasting however. Has very little caffeine in it.

47. I love herbal tea
I like the various mint teas, chamomile and also licorice. I like the fruit teas too -- just not as much as the others I mentioned.

When we were kids, my dad used to make iced tea out of rosehip tea and honey. It was really good. And yes, it did taste like roses.
