14. Once at a Cincinnati street festival
I was wandering around, sampling all the tasty treats...there was a place down a bit that from a distance looked very much like "JEW Bar-b-que". I was understandably shocked and appalled, so I walked quickly towards it ready to totally freak out on the people. Needless to say the fine folks working the "J&W Bar-b-que" stand were utterly confused by the small woman who ran up full of fury only to gasp and run sheepishly in the other direction when she got close enough to read the sign. :D

To be fair, the use of the old school ampersand is probably NOT the best choice for that particular business.

24. My hometown.. Dick Printing Company
Edited on Sun Jun-25-06 05:02 AM by SoCalDem
High school kids would call the ancient bookkeeper/receptionist/office manager and ask her how much it cost to have a dick printed.. She was hard of hearing, and would often ask them to repeat the question.. they were usually laughing so much, they would hang up

My aunt and uncle knew the guy who owned it and his name was Abraham Dick..He never changed the name of the business when he inherited it from his parents..

there was also a furniture store named Cheatum Furniture.
