I just got my son the coolest birthday present..
Edited on Sun Jun-25-06 05:19 AM by SoCalDem
He's a "serious" sort of guy who loves cars...so I ordered a bunch of Life Magazines from 1973 (his birth year) and some car magazines fromthe same year.. I have a feeling he will be enjoying the car ads and the stuff we all thought was so important way back then...

I can't wait for them to arrive., I want to "pre-read/re-read" the Life magazines.. I KNEW I should have saved all those old Nat'l Geographics & Life & Look magazines :) I could be RICH, I tell ya..

If you are looking for an unusual gift for someone try their link..

in fact the GODDAMNED code people wrote us up and gave us until July 3 to LANDSCAPE our yard..

The damned tree and lack of rain KILLED our grass, and we were hoping to wait until cooler weather to landscape, but if we don;t do it by the deadline, they will FINE us $500.. :grr:..and we STILL have to landscape it./

I am so pissed.. We have to re-do the sprinkler system first..and it's about a thousand degrees out there now..

5. Which magazines?
I have a bunch of Road and Track and Sportscar Graphics mags from the 60s. I love reading the Gran Prix and CanAm race reports from back then.

6. My mom started subscribing to Nat'l Geographic the year I was born.
I've seen the issue from the month of my birth. I love flipping through the old ads. That is a cool present. :)

9. I saved the Chicago Tribune issue the day he was born
and for the others, the Kansas City Star, but of course I have NO idea whatever happened to them.. For all I know they ended up as dishwrap on one of our many moves..:(

Good idea, gone wrong:)
