We have Kitten visitors. (pics warning.)
Edited on Sun Jun-25-06 07:55 PM by texas1928
A coworker called me today to ask if I could take two kittens that had shown up at his in-laws house. They were thin but did not find any fleas. They are a boy and girl. The little stripped one is a boy and the black and white one is a girl. When he brought them by they were in a carrier and were scared out of their minds. I picked the little girl up and turned her over and she started purring and went right to sleep. The little boy let my wife pick him up and he started nuzzling her neck, purring and working his claws on her. They are curled up in the corner asleep together.

We can not keep them due to our four we have now. But my wife's coworker also does kitten fostering and she can take them and find them good homes.

So I have done my good deed for the week.

2. It was fun.
They were both very loving. They would start purring immediately when you picked them up.

6. They are cute.
You can not tell by the pics but both of them were all legs. They are going to be some long, lanky cats. They both were sweethearts. They purred the minute you picked them up.

7. Only four cats? I currently have eight and have had as many as ten.
Sigh, my two favorites have passed on.

Six cats are no problem. It's when you get more than six that things get a little (cat) hairy. (White cat hairs on black velvet and other dark fabrics and black or orange cat hairs on light colored fabrics. }( )

8. We have four.
That is all we need. Though I am beginning to think we have a 5th. I have seen a black and white cat disappearing down the hall and one night I looked it right in the eyes as it looked over the arm of the couch at me, and then faded away.

9. I had two Siamese cats, a brother and a sister.
The sister died of mammary cancer at age eleven. But I still had Boy Cat. And then we rescued two kittens.

At sixteen Boy Cat was overcome by kidney failure. I managed to keep him alive for six more months by giving him daily intravenous saline. But eventually, he became too weak and too many other problems were cropping up due to the kidney failure and I finally had to have him put to sleep.

For about a year after that, I would feel him rub up against me when I was on the computer like he used to do. The other cats would be visible across the room, so I knew it wasn't them. Once in a while, I would feel the weight of a cat on my lap when I was reading where he and his sister would be any time I sat in my chair reading, but there was no cat there.

As we rescued more cats, he came less and less often. But sometimes, I think our well loved animal friends come back to visit.

Maybe the cat you see is from your past or lived in your house sometime before.

10. Have to be a cat that lived there before.
I have never had a black and white tuxedo cat with black smudge on the end of it's nose.

15. What a wonderful story.
I've never had a deceased cat come back to me like that. However, I presently have a cat who I believe is a reincarnation of my late cat, Max, who died in 1990. They have the some of the same strange habits.

12. She will...
They go and look at the home that they are giving them away to. And make sure the people are ready for a cat.

13. I Often Foster Kittens
That don't have homes. As much as I would like to have a cat.........I just can't. My scedule just doesn't allow it. I foster kittens on a temporary basis until they find homes. I travel with my job and cannot keep a pet, but when I am in town, I just love to have a kitty to come home to. Even if it is a foster kitty.

17. She was still a little scared, but they both also felt safe enough...
To fall fast asleep. They were tuckered out. But any time you picked them up, they went to purring and relaxed. I would have loved to have kept them but our cats are older and very set in their territories.

22. Invader cats are insane felines who decide to visit our yard
OUr four actually gang up on said visitors and trap them where they can't possibly escape.

One visitor cat persists in coming in the house via the pet flaps. One of our cats corners him in the house, another one waits in the garage and the other two are lurking in the dark outside the exterior pet flap. Poor thing doesn't know which way to run. I have witnessed this and it is both hilarious and a bit scary. I have never known cats who would tag team a victim before.

They will get him no matter what.

Invader Kitty is the generic nickname we have given these poor unfortunates
