What's your favorite Monkee song?

I like a lot of them, but right now I'd say "Take A Giant Step" is my favorite.

1. "Daydream Believer"
I've developed a strange liking for it since ebay is using it in their ads.

2. "Listen to the Band"
Been a Monkees fan since the show first aired. (Yeah, I was about three at the time, LOL!) Got to see them on the reunion tour in 1986.

15. Love the fade-out and fade-back-in on that one.
I've still got my scratchy 45 of that.

Yeah, it's a great song! I always liked Mike Nesmith's vocals on it too.

30. The first 45 I ever got that I actually requested was
"A Little Bit Me, A Little Bit You."

I think that was Christmas of 1967 when I was also given a Close'n'Play that looked just like this:

5. Two, I think
"Mary, Mary" (not played nearly enough) and "A Little Bit Me, A Little Bit You" (now THAT'S an earworm!)

Ah, throw "Valerie" in there too--love the harmonies on that one.

13. "She"
Why am I standing here,
Missing her and wishing she were here.
She only did me wrong now;
I'm better off alone.

Why am I missing her?
I should be kissing her.............

their version of "I'm a Believer," which that mean girl Bettie Ruth, desert mountain wind blowing through her hair, proclaimed to be "the most righteous song ever" as I piloted the rented red convertible over the Apache trail on my way to destiny.

On edit: youtube has the "Circle Sky" clip from Head. Warning: do not watch the clip if you do not wish to see that infamous footage of the Vietnamese point-blank pistol execution.

29. Favorite Monkees song
Zor and Zam, followed by their cover of Riu Chiu, a 16th century Spanish carol. I can remember camping in front of the tv on Monday nights to watch the show and then calling my best friend to discuss it. Her favorite was Davy and mine was Micky. Ah, good memories.
