Oh crud, there I go again living a life of quiet desperation.
Life has gotten way too suck lately. I feel a need to blow the roof off the dump with somethin' crazy. I'm in need of a major change.

Whatever should I do??? Any suggestions DU?

2. The "living lives of quiet desperation' line is so apropos in
the reign of King George.

I have lived a relatively carefree life and was looking forward to retirement and now live one of those lives of quiet desperation.

thanks to the culture of Bush.

4. I just want to run away...
or maybe it's a run to. I don't feel like I'm really living my life. Just sort of hanging on, waiting for it to be over. Sucks.

Maybe I'll try the commune again.

I haven't done hang gliding OR bungy jumping. Shit, I better get on with it.

5. You must consider running off with me and Ms. Pie to an island
paradise. You know, just to take your mind off your troubles.

6. It would appear that I left a might too soon....
I like the sound of them odds.

But this Ms. Pie, I don't believe I've had the pleasure. Is she as sweet as ... or really good at math? :dunce:

12. Thanks
I guess I thought other folks might post expressions of ennui with literary references but that'll have to be another day and another thread. ;-)

9. Do something tasteless and silly.
Deb and I always find some classless tourist trap to visit with the 10 year old when we start taking life too seriously.

Legitimate cool stuff works too, as long as it's something that the 10 year old grooves on, like the zoo.

11. Train for an Iron Man
I'm just kidding.

Frankly, Unless you're talking about moving across country or getting married or something like that, I find major change to be difficult to sustain.

I suggest a few small changes instead. Take a course, get a new haircut, join an softball league.
