Good Wednesday Morning, Crew!

:hi::donut:
Welcome to the "Hump Day" edition of the Early Morning Crew thread! :bounce: I'm glad to have you along the ride with me today! :bounce: I hope you had an easier day yesterday than I did. I walked in and the entire store layout had been changed, things were in a disarray and I was thunderstruck at the first sight of it. x( "What the hells have I walked into here?" was my first thought. Turns out, we've got this humongus clearance sale in progress and things have had to be moved to display them in the proper areas. Lots of work still to do on it too, so my week is going to be a busy one! In addition, our General Manager is on vacation again this week (unbeknownst to me), so I'm responsible now for the whole affair! Fun, fun, fun!

One of my co-workers, yesterday, suggested I watch "911 Loose Change" on Google Video. How I had missed seeing that documentary I have no idea, but I watched it last night when I got home and, let me just say, it's got me kinda freaked out. Everything in it makes perfect sense, and the questions posed certainly need answered. I just don't think we'll ever GET the answers. John F. Kennedy died 43 years ago, and we STILL don't know all the answers to that one. Can you imagine what would happen if what the documentary said was true? There'd be a full scale revolution in this country! :scared: Have you seen it yet? What do you think?

And so here we are at Wednesday. Once we get through this work shift, we'll be on the way to another weekend! :bounce: So let's get this day started, my crew! Time to rise and shine! :woohoo:

though I must admit the omission of response to the first part makes it seem so.

Meh.

BTW, I should add that if you decide it esd vjsthrd you have my word that I will hold nothing against you. I came to my own conclusion, and I just don't have the heart to hold someone elses against them.... though I must admit I should like some assurance that that is mutual. It would indeed be a pity great to lose a friend over the interpretation of the evidence.

P.S. Just remember I think * would do it if he had the chance, I work more by physics though. Planes are enough to make buildings fall, after all.

P.S. I should note I feel like that ONLY with regards to that particular bit, the rest I think niffs to high heaven.

Edited on Wed Jun-28-06 06:12 AM by Random_Australian
I may think that the bit about vjsthrd is not right, but the rest is NOT ND. The rest points to something nasty by Bush. Bush + cronies have pulled some dirty tricks, but vjsthrd is what I do not believe in.

But what about the "won't hold difference of opinion against you" thing? You won't? Or you will?

116. Whewf! Good to hear!
Anyway, the only difference is that I believe * and cronies did nasty things in the leadup to 911, you believe they did the same nasties but with explosives this time. I don't think any sane jury would care if they used explosives or not, there are people who are going to have to be held accountable for the same crimes. (Unless they can come up with some pretty DAMN good reasons, or it really was just co-incidence)

135. Possibly. You may get revolution regardless.
The way things are going, well, the fundies are trying to push the workd to somewhere closer an ideal; but you cannot change to world to suit ones concpet, only the other way around. This means that something is brewing. Something nasty.

btw, the corporate bastards are doing the same. All for the rich, none for the workers will eventually make an unhappy workforce. I just hope that some people are sensible when they take over.

20. A few plot
holes, drove it down, plus, its just me...but I thought there should have been just a smidge more action...not major big/flash/bang action, but more of him flying around, saving folks and what not...those are my biggest beefs...

All the rest is AWESOME. The special effects, and the few plot twists were good...its hard to judge a new movie, when Superman The Movie is all ready ingrained into my soul...so, no, in my mind, Superman Returns is not as good as Superman the Movie...but Superman Returns, none of the old movies can hold a torch to the special effects of the new flick...amazing.

There are three major action sequences, and two of those are tied together, and they were amazing, top notch. The plot holes, are mainly...why has clark/superman been gone for so long, the reasoning behind it was really weak, so weak, that they shouldn't have even bothered having him leave for that long period of time....I mean, I know why they made him leave, so Lois could learn to live without him, and give superman a new challenge and what not..but his "reasons" for leaving were...iffy...

Same with Clark Kents excuse for being gone for five years...They barely made mention of it, and it was played down greatly...these, to me are plot holes....but they are the two biggest that I saw....

My hump day is half over and I get closer and closer to my weekend trip to Berlin on Friday :woohoo: I already have the b-day present for my dear (*cough*) brother (I asked him which DVD he wants) and now all I need to do is wrap it in paper.

Yesterday evening I cleaned my apt so that I am able to let my mom in on Sunday without her getting an heartattack. Those are really a push to get an apt in order again

AND I chatted a bit with my sweetheart :D

128. Good Morning MissH
Glad to hear that you are in such good spirits today. Suspect it had something to do with the chit-chat you had with your sweetie. Yes, that sure can do wonders can't it?

Berlin for the weekend sounds like fun. Do you have to bake your brother a birthday cake when you get there? Do you know if he's got something special planned? Some weird outing?

I did some major domestic things last weekend and my place still is looking rather good, if I must say so. But then again, I haven't been home much, so not much of a chance to mess it up.

Fortunately I don't have to bake a cake for my brother. Wouldn't be the best idea anyway as I am sitting some hours in the train till I'll be in Berlin. Beside, my grandma makes better cakes. I am a bloody beginner when it comes to baking.
I don't know if he has something planned. He just moved so maybe he is throwing a small party at his new place. I'll find out Saturday.

Yes, it was really nice to chat with M. Makes me feel close to him on the distance. I had the webcam on and he admired me again :)

14. Good morning Clint.
:hi:

Good to see you this fine morning.

The whole office is in total disarray as well - there is a big dead-line for processing things today, and so everybody is using the same system - hence it is slower than if it were steam-driven...

I'm still in a good mood though. :D

Rossini again this morning (quite rare as well) Stabat Mater.

:donut: :hi:

What an exciting day you had! :bounce: Nothing like coming back to a clearance sale after vacation.

No, I haven't seen that, but I will now that I know about it.

For your morning entertainment ...
I guarantee you didn't want to trade days with me yesterday. I went to get my TN driver's license. No big deal, right? Well, I drove right past the place, which was out in the middle of nowhere. I was looking for a place to turn around and hit the end of the road before I knew it. So, I turned right and decided to turn around at a farmhouse driveway. I was afraid to go much farther since I didn't want to get lost and I was already about 10 miles past civilization. Well, I backed into the driveway instead of fronting in ... hoping to avoid backing out onto the road and possibly going over the very steep edge on the other side. Everything was going fine until the car just wouldn't move. Turns out that my right front tire had just hit the ditch beside the driveway (apparently, all TN driveways are booby-trapped with ditches on either side). Couldn't go forward or backwards. Meanwhile, there was a big dog chained to the tree barking at me. No one was home, so I called AAA and explained the situation (not so calmly). I was a bit freaked out and more than a little scared. They put me on high priority and dispatched someone, who showed up in about 15 minutes. He was in the area pulling someone else off the side of a mountain. Meanwhile, the owner came home. He looked a bit annoyed, but he just drove by and went into his house after I told him AAA was on the way. He was a bit of a scary looking dude, so I was VERY relieved when the AAA truck came around the corner about a minute later. The driver hooked up to my rear axle and gently pulled me out in no time at all ... no damage or anything. I was very surprised that my little car happily drove down the road again and didn't wobble or creak. OK, so how funny is it that this happened on the way to get my driver's license? And I've been a member of AAA for 11 years and this is the first time I've ever had to use it. I ALMOST decided not to renew in June! :scared:

Well, then I get to the driver's license place and they tell me I have to have my Social Security card ... something they neglected to mention when I called earlier. OK, not a problem unless it doesn't come up right. And my Medicare card would work just fine. Take a number and wait ... and wait ... and wait. I must've been there for an hour, but it all went well after that and I'm officially a TN driver! :bounce: Hey, she even took a decent picture of me for a change. I treated my car to a tank of gas and myself to a burger on the way home. I think I'll stay put today.

Damn near came close to the new one, too! :scared: They were really funny, though ... I told them the moving truck would be so much and we would need to buy gas for the cars, too (unless they preferred we used someone else's card for gas ) and they said, "It costs THAT much to move?!" Yepper! 115. Believe it or not,
some people have NEVER moved, not even across town. They're the ones who say things like, "Well, if you don't like it here, why don't you just move?" Even once you get there, everything is expensive. You always have to buy stuff to get a house settled, no matter what you already have. Sometimes it's a matter of not being able to get to the box where the cleaning supplies are, for instance.

Then there are the first utility bills in the new place and the last ones in the old place -- always way more than a normal month. As a matter of fact, I'm a little nervous that we haven't received our final water bill ... and considering the trouble we had with the water company, I wouldn't be surprised to find out that the account is still in our name! :scared: (They turned it off the day before closing and I had to call and have them turn it back on for the walk-through.) Guess I'll call them today. I've already bugged the phone company and I get a different answer every time I call.

The electricity, water, etc...I have an employee who just moved into a new place as well and her final electric bill was...are you ready for this...over six hundred dollars! They decided to wait to bill her until closing so she got a bill with six weeks on it! :scared: I'd freak! It's not even a little funny when you get a different answer like that from a place. I hate that! Best Buy is horrible for that sort of thing.

I'm in Saint Augustine at the moment. Miss Sugar Smack would rather sleep late and linger over coffee in the hotel room I never touch the stuff so I'm always a bit annoyed by the time we get going.
I'm really looking forward to making my own coffee on Thursday afternoon. I think that'll be the very first thing I'll do after we unpack the truck before we hit the Lorelei for happy hour.

111. It's very quaint. The tour of the older buildings is short but worthwhile.
We won't have the time to walk around but I've been going through here since I was 9.
I'll enjoy the coast drive for a while. It's so much slower than traveling on 95 but we will make it to Fort Lauderdale in time for supper even if I have to cut the A1A drive short.

97. Our trip to Savannah was beautiful but far too brief.
My traveling companion likes to sleep late so we don't have a lot of time for sight seeing. x(
Yesterday (at 10:30) I finally said "I'll be waiting for you in the car." I woke her up at 7 with the suggestion that we go for an early walking tour while it was still cool. Oh well. She enjoyed the scenery as we meandered down A1A but she still ask if she could sleep until 8. I wanted to show her a few things on our way to the Keys that may have to wait for our northbound trip. Darned kids!

I don't think we turned the TV on for hours.

I think I'll make hotel coffer for her to wake up to. Maybe that'll hurry us along the was so I can find something to eat before lunchtime.
Or maye I should go out for a quick bite to eat while she lingers in her pj's over bad coffee.
Maybe I'll start a poll asking how to get someone motivated in the mornings.

It looks like I picked a good morning to reappear. I wasn't checking my PMs this morning until you suggested that I should. I agree with everything you said.
I'm in St Augustine at the moment. After I wake the sleeping beauty with a cup of bad hotel room coffee we'll wander down A1A for a while. I've got to look at my trip on mapquest because I really do want to be in Fort Lauderdale early enough to take Sugar Smack to meet Phil for supper. He will be joining us in the Keys on two out of the three weekends we'll be there.

I'm taking Miss Sugar down to Key West for a ride on the Conch Train. I'll get her into vacation mode one way or the other. We're gonna miss Wicki Wachee. x(

86. Good Morning, it's Hump Day, everything will get better from here........
.....so keep your chin up everyone and hang in there, the weekend is coming. :bounce:

I haven't seen the documentary you spoke of but I have read just about everything I could get my hands on about the JFK assassination. It was definitely an inside job and yes I think Johnson had at least limited knowledge of the situation before November 1963. Even the mob couldn't pull something like that off and keep it so completely under wraps for so many years - it had to be a job carried out by our CIA.

I feel sorry for you at the store. Sounds like this week will fly by for you with everything you have going. Take care and you will do just fine.

:grouphug:Hugs everyone and be good to each other.:headbang:

121. Morning Clint!
I'm running a little late this morning so I don't think I'll have a chance to read all the posts.

So your first day back at work was a horror? I suspect your supervisor didn't want to deal with the mess/sale preparations and said "the heck with it, Clint can handle it, after all he left me here alone for eleven days, that'll teach him. He'll never take another vacation again."

I'm truly interested in the video that you're talking about, but I'll have to view it later. There is a group here, I think it's called 911 that has all sorts of scary stuff. Some appears to be tin foil hat stuff to me, but other things appear to be credible. I don't think we'll ever learn the truth, but I dearly believe that BushCo new something was up, and him being the tough Texan tried to flex his muscles and lost.

Ah, too much deep thinking so early in the morning.

Yes, it's a deep subject to be discussing so early in the AM. I'm sure some of it IS tin foil hat stuff...but one just has to try to wade through all that make a decision on ones own. Give it a watch sometime and see what you think.

Sometimes I think our GM does think that! But that's OK with me. I don't really mind. I was just surprised to see the store in such a state when I first walked in.

146. Yes, your right
about wading through all the information. Sometimes it feels like such a daunting task.

Your GM knows that you'll handle the crisis with flair, so maybe that's why you got stuck with all the hard work. Just shows what a good manager you are.

Well, I've gotta be heading outta here. Wishing you a great day, and be chatting with you tomorrow.
