What Happened to Gas prices overnite - Ours Went Way Up
About two days ago we were at 2.59 (or close to that) and they jumped to 2.69 and this morning to 2.79. And I had to get gas this morning - so I got fleeced.

Anybody know what is going on? Or is this just the usual price gouging?

1. Probably just the usual price gouging
...although we've been sitting at 2.99 for the longest time. I just assumed our little local station was waiting for that big-ass "3" to come in the mail. :D

2. Last night at around 10:10 pm, I filled my tank up...
and the price per gallon was at $2.84.

When I got off work at 6:30, the price was at $2.90.

I wouldn't be surprised if the price of gas went up to or over $3.00 by this weekend. :grr: I'm thinking it may be the usual price gouging, but who knows.

3. Our prices had been pretty stable for a couple of weeks.
And then this.

There is new, worse trouble in Israel and Palestine so maybe that is the excuse this time. There always seems to be an excuse.

Too cloudy this morning - raise the price of gas.

Wreck on the innerstate - raise the price of gas.

Old lady trips at Walmart - raise the prcie of gas.

10. Ours has been steadily dropping all week.

We're all the way down to $2.89 at the cheapest stations in town, a price I haven't seen for gas since...October of '05? I'm in Western Oregon. The conspiracy nut in me says the Republicans have ordered companies to make gas cheaper for a while in regions in which the price has been up there for months with no relief in sight, especially in states with "close" gubernatorial races they perceive their candidates to have a decent chance in. (The Oregon governor's race is perceived to be a "close" match up between our awesome Democratic incumbent governor and the fuckstick moron the GOP here put up to challenge him--it isn't.)

12. Crude closed above 72 bucks yesterday.
I filled up for 2.69 last night on that news. I've always thought Wed evening to be the best day to buy gas prior to a Holiday weekend then the day would be Tues or Monday. Maybe I will start charting that.

16. Last I recall, media was reporting Iraq back at original output level.
So what did happen?

It's just a game to them.

And as a union advisor told me lately; those three little words: Management. Doesn't. Care.

Pity. Most people look up to management...
