Web programmers! Some advice, PLEASE!
I have quite an extensive live music trading collection, which I've been keeping track of in an early version of FrontPage on my Windows machine. What I would like to do is transfer those tables into Excel on my Mac (which I've managed to do), then set up a webpage which will display those files within the webpage without actually having to make the lists part of the webpage. I've been told it's possible, and I seem to recall seeing it being done before, but I haven't the slightest idea how. I have the latest version of Dreamweaver, if that helps at all.

The pages as they exist now are here:

Hopefully those of you reading this understand what I want to do. Thoughts? Thanks.

1. I'm no programmer
but I do know how it's done. You would need to import your table into a MySQL database program and use PHP in your webpages to access and display the information.

3. No problem
You're building a nice collection there. Do you frequent DimeADozen?:)
I've gotten several of the titles from your list there.

4. Is it that obvious?
I do indeed frequent that site, among others. The page I link to is only the stuff I haven't listened to yet. The other pages are pretty scary. :)

5. What's the web server run?

If the web server is a Windows box, you just need to set up a System DSN (datasource, in the control panel) with the Excel file as the source. Dreamweaver will allow you to insert a data object into your page with no coding skills, as long as you can specify the source (the DSN you just created). This will cause the contents of the Excel file to be displayed in your page as HTML, and updating it is as simple as updating the Excel file.

Similar things can be done on other operating systems, but they require you to transfer the data into another format (like MySQL) and learn some programming.

6. Golly, I have no idea.
How do I find out? I could ask the webmaster. He's a nice guy.

8. Yeah, ask the webmaster.
Tell him that you need to "configure an Excel Spreadsheet as a datasource on the server". He should be able to tell you in 3 seconds whether or not the server supports it.
