Edited on Wed Jun-28-06 03:32 PM by LynneSin

And secretly we, we all think that we are the 'Dancing Queen, young and sweet only 17' from time to time

1. I've even seen Mamma Mia
That probably falls under the category of something I really shouldn't publicly admit and that LynneSin will relentlessly make fun of me about for years to come!

You know, phrase A, phrase B, phrase B, phrase A again.

Too much Charlie Parker, I guess. ;)

15. They're responsible for my "Beatles moment"
I first heard/saw them on a Swedish "import" show on the CBC in 1976 at my Swedish grandmother's house.

They performed Mamma Mia, and I had never heard music sound so magical before. 'Twas bliss.

(I had my second Beatles moment a couple of years later when a friend played Devo's first LP for me.)

19. I agree. I admit to liking them...
Their music is pretty timeless (plus it has a good beat and you can dance to it), LOL!:D

I enjoy the harmonies :-), though it sure has a tendency to stick in your head...x(

21. Fan here, too
Bought "Chess" when it was only a "concept" album, long before it actually got put together as a musical. "Winner Takes it All" is probably my favorite.

the plot was paper thin, but was really beside the point.

24. The true Benny and Bjorn fans love "Chess", too. ;)
(did you happen to see Jack Black on Terd Ferguson the other night?)
"Chess" is the play that Murray Head's "One Night In Bangkok" came from.

Great songwriting, and beautiful singing by Agnetha and Anni-Frid during the time with ABBA.
Anni-Frid and Agnetha had a couple of post-ABBA albums with some great songs on them, my favorite is "To Turn the Stone":

To Turn The Stone

The moon retreats behind a silver cloud
As darkness throws its cloak towards the earth
And mystery replaces what we thought we knew'
To turn the stone, to turn the stone

The one dimension only shows one side
But do we see the same through different eyes
As you and I peer into life's kaleidoscope
To turn the stone, to turn the stone

Eternal sands of time shift endlessly
Behind a veil of motionless disguise
An eyelid flash is all it really seems to need
To turn the stone, to turn the stone

31. Chess is the best show!
I'm not a huge fan of most musicasl, because the music usually isn't very good. Chess has great music. I saw it in London and it was fabulous. Of course, when it came to the US, they had to change the plot so that the Russian didn't beat the American, and then the whole thing made no sense.
