Pregnant Britney Spears Poses Nude For Harper's Magazine Cover (Pic)

<snip>

NEW YORK -- Pregnant pop princess Britney Spears is baring nearly all on the cover of Harper's Bazaar magazine.

The singer of "... Baby, One More Time" posed in the buff for the cover of the August issue; there's also a photo spread inside.

On the cover, Spears, who is sitting, cups her breasts with her hands and crosses her legs while showing her protruding belly and smiling for the camera of lensman Alexi Lubomirski.

"Nothing to wear?" a cover headline asks. "487 Best new ideas inside."

Spears revealed to late-night talk show host David Letterman last month that she was pregnant, confirming media reports and ending much speculation.

The 24-year-old singer and her husband, Kevin Federline, have a son, Sean Preston, who was born last September.

What's the problem? I'm not a Britney fan by any means, but this seems a less harmful move than striding barefoot into a truckstop bathroom or using Sean Preston as a makeshift airbag...

60. Lived in one in the summers out in the country. Uncle owned a big
court by the railroad tracks.

Lying there at night when the trains went through was wonderful. The whistle. Oh man. And then when it rained. I've never slept so peacefully since.

And Grandma had a chiming clock that chimed 4 times at quarter past, 8 at half past, 12 at quarter to, and sixteen chimes plus the number of hours on the hour.

I've always suspected that this is why I don't (and never have) slept as well since. For one, it is too quiet. Second, those were the happiest days of my life.

I love trailers.

31. This is one stereotype that DOES have a solid basis in reality.
There are a lot of nice retirement and family oriented mobile home parks out there, I'll grant, but there are also a hell of a lot of parks that would scare the bejeezus out of your average person. I could take you to three within 20 minutes of my house that would have you refusing to even get out of the car.

38. I don't think that many people really have a negative view.
I don't think I've ever really met anyone who seriously believed that all trailer parks are redneck hellholes. People joke about them (because, as I said, there is a bit of reality to the stereotype), but I think that people are quite aware of the large percentage of clean, family oriented sites. My grandmother lived in a beautiful park for nearly a decade, and other than the HOA-ninnies who whined if her grass got even a half inch too high, it was a great place.

50. I live in a very upscale mobile home park.
The management is very strict and if the grass gets over 2 inches or if my home needs some exterior repairs, I receive a notice on my door to cut the grass or make repairs or I will be fined. But I am glad because it keeps our park from looking rundown.

14. AIRBRUSH! AIRBRUSH!
Sorry. As someone who currently has a pregnant wife, as well as photoshop skills I can say that I've almost never seen a more airbrushed job. Looking at high rez photos it's so obviously fake. Not because it's a bad job, but because it's such a good airbrushing job. Not a single stretch mark, blemish, purple line, c-section scar, nada.

Yeah right.

Digital manipulation of magazine cover photos is as common as magazine cover photos. Surely you're not surprised to see it going on here?

19. I guess it just is extreme
It's the extreme nature of it. My wife saw the pictures and while she hates Ms. Spears, it still upset her and made her feel even more ugly at a very delicate hormonal time. I know she isn't alone because she was discussing it with a number of her other pregnant, or recently pregnant friends.

I'm certainly not surprised, but my point is that imagery like this, moreso than the regular modeling airbrush, can be detrimental to MY day when my wife gets depressed and goes on about how fat and ugly she is with all her stretch marks, and I have to talk to her about how much those photo's are airbrushed.

Seeing an 18 year old model airbrushed doesn't affect my wife. Seeing a pregnant woman looking like that, even if she is conscious of the airbrushing, still makes her feel especially ugly at an especially delecate time.

Just sayin'.

32. I know the person who used to have to photoshop her pix. Honest to god.
They worked for a design firm that handled her publicity and such. Every photo of her had to pass through this person's hands for retouching before it was approved for publication. And there was a *lot* of retouching. She apparently has terrible acne all over her face, chest and back. But through the magic of photoshop, she can make women everywhere feel completely inferior about their own flaws. Yay! :eyes:

...This is no joke:

My Dad told me he used to rub olive oil on my mother's tummy, each night, to prevent stretch marks (when she was pregnant). Four children later, my mother didn't have a single one. I know it may sound a little kinky, but it worked for her. Just thought I'd pass the tip along!

Harper's, without the Bazaar, is a most respectable publication, widely known for its "Harper's Index". I thought, "Great Caesar's ghost! I didn't see it, but my sis who used to like her did, and she said it was a trainwreck. She looked awful, apparently, and sounded worse.

There's a rumor that after she saw that, she ripped out her extensions and dyed her hair. Even if not true, she is clearly on damage control detail.

59. Too bad it is still not real...
As stated in a post above, Spears did not react well to the Dateline interview, and, uh, mangled her appearance before heading to the magazine shoot. Pretty much everything seen there was the result of magazine damage control. Nothing really to add to this thread, but I figured I'd post the short blurb about the shoot.

From contactmusic.com

Pregnant pop star BRITNEY SPEARS was so devastated by the negative reaction she received after her appearance on US news show DATELINE, she chopped off all her hair and dyed it black to help her image. The TOXIC singer received a barrage of criticism for appearing on the show in a sheer, low-cut top, denim mini-skirt and flip-flops earlier this month (JUN06). She reportedly insisted on doing her own hair and makeup for the interview and was slammed for appearing "dishevelled", with the New York Post reporting that fans called her hair a "rat's nest". A source tells American publication Us Weekly after the interview, "She felt terrible. She pulled out her extensions and bought a bottle of dark hair dye. "She didn't understand her image problem until the negative feedback about Dateline." Spears' representative insists the singer checked with her doctor first to see if dying her hair was safe for her unborn child adding, "It's vegetable dye and will wash right out." She then chopped her hair into a short bob, neglecting to tell editors of fashion magazine Harper's Bazaar, who were featuring her on an upcoming cover, what she had done. Spears showed up at the cover photo shoot last Friday with her new look and according to Us Weekly, the magazine's editors were "horrified". Stylists for the shoot had to work quickly to undo the damage and decided to add brunette hair extensions at the last minute.
