So sorry. Didn't win the lottery. Please tell miss_american_pie

Maybe next time.

1. Hey you
That's okay. I could always get off my lazy behind and get a job to fund our island adventure. :D

6. Hey Boo, I ain't lucky neither...
To tell you the truth, I wasn't counting on it much.

Luckily, I have a contingency plan.

7. What? You weren't counting on it?
Me either. I like to play now and then though because of the hope factor.

8. Like Dante said in his 'Inferno'...
abandon hope all ye who enter here (lotteries? spelling bees? DU?).

But it's okay, I thought we might all go for lime popsicles (so very tropical, doncha think?), and I'd bring my 'Sounds of Nature - Surf' cd. We can smear tanning lotion on each others backs. And after an hour of laying around the house on beach towels, we'll realize how stupid we are and go see a movie.

9. Okay, just so long as you don't force us to watch
"The Omen". I hear it's just not scary.

10. No way! We'll find a drive-in that's doing a marathon of all...
the classics. Black and white only.

Gee, you know, that does sound like fun. I haven't been to a drive in in ages. Haven't seen a horror movie in ages. I'm getting too serious lately. We gotta get rid of Bush, and issue in an era of fun again. Remember what it was like to have fun? It's just plain been too long.

11. No joke. There were rumors about increased rates
of depression in the American population in the early years after the shrub was elected. How could it be anything but worse now? We are so used to bad, badder and baddest news that we feel numb, but subconsciously we are being warped. I really think so.

12. Yeah, I've felt that for quite awhile....
I've lately started to describe me and my best friend Annie as canaries in the coalmine. I really feel like we, and Democrats generally, are more sensitive to this shit and pay a pretty heavy price in terms of our overall happiness. If only we can hold it together and not get discouraged to the point of giving up ... while we wait for the rest of America to wake da fuk up.

13. In the meantime, we bond with those who suffer as we do.
A good thing.
