9. Eighty degrees in the Keys.
But we have turned off the A/C because there is a nice breeze blowing off the bay.

Hey, we have a down-side...the salt shaker gets clogged in the humidity!

16. Can I tell you how many times we have opened up the salt shakers
in the restaurants down here because the poor rice just gets clogged up with the wet chunks of salt?

The salt grinders work pretty well, but the tourists like to steal them!

Oh well, that's how it goes!

This Friday we will have our Christmas parade in Islamorada. They have a fake tree in the park blowing bubbles in the park at night, and they dump a huge mound of snow for the Keys kids to play in. This is fine until the next day when the snow has turned into an iceberg. The parents encourage the kids to climb the "snow mountain" for a photo op, but the snow has turned into a slick chunk of ice. Last year a couple of kids went sliding off the ice and fell, cutting their faces on the ice and requiring stitches. It was a nightmare. These Keys kids can swim with the sharks and the barracudas and rays all over the place, but they know nothing about maneuvering a chunk of ice in the kiddie park!

19. We've had sleet and snow here in the Boise area too.
It's a good night to snuggle up with a quilt and your favorite beverage (I'm trying to decide between hot tea and a glass of wine!).

then it started raining and it's rained and rained, and now it is snowing

starting to cover the ground

only it isn't just snow, it's mixed with sleet, and it melts and freezes on cars, and above ground things.

bridges are closing down over the river
