Anyone know of a (female) beagle puppy who needs a home?
Has to be in Connecticut, Mass, or RI for logistical reasons. We don't want to go the pet store route, and the pup doesn't have to be a purebred. Can be from an accidental litter at someone's house, or a shelter.

Or, we'd be happy with a poodle or a Wheaten Terrier. (Female.)

We want to bring a puppy into our family; it's been two years since we lost Beebee, and the Little Guy wants a dog. And I miss having Beebee hanging out with me in my office during the day.

11. No problem - the more this pic gets seen the more smiling people there are.
It's just too damn cute.

6. Yes, I did. they're WAY too expensive. We want a puppy from a relatively local
shelter, or from a family whose dog got preggers by mistake.

Thanks for the advice anyway.

5. Check out Petfinder.com, sir.
You can search by breed, age and by area.

Oh, and if you need a recommendation from a rescue, you know where I am.

8. I tried them. See my post above. And the only Beagle Rescue folks we've found
in New England are in Maine, and have no pups right now.

Because we have a young kid, we can't go with an older "rescue dog" which I'm sure you'll understand.

But if you can get us a line on a pup who needs a damn good home and is in southern New England, well, that'll be one more beer I'll owe you some day.

12. Is Maryland too far?
Also, you know that most rescues will do a CUR (Canine Underground Railroad) Run or Rolling Rescue. Beagle Rescue of Southern Maryland has got some REAL cuties...

I know she just took in a puppy. I'm not sure what it is though, I'll check with her tomorrow. I'll see her first thing in the morning.

9. Thank you. Most of the "rescue dogs" we've seen are older, not puppies.

20. My cousin just rescued a dog that is...get this...
beagle/dachshund/pitbull. It's a weird looking little thing. It has a beagle head, pit bull ass, and short legs like a dachshund. At some point, her front legs were broken and never set right, so her front feet go sidewards.

Really nice little dog though. She has three little kids and the dog is awesome with them.

22. I know! I should have gotten one at Thanksgiving.
I'll try to remember at X-Mas. Her name is Muttley, which I think is very appropriate.

My mom's neighbor rescues dogs, I'll ask around for you. But I think they mainly deal with greyhounds, not quite what you are looking for. LoL. But she may have some contacts.

15. Check w/your local bird hunting groups
They tend to have an overabunbence of beagles. I used to work at an animal shelter and we'd often get in influx of them from hunters at certain times of the year.

Beagles can be such sweet dogs. Good luck! :-)
