I hurt.
from sitting back away from my improvised sewing spot and leaning over. :( First order of business when I have my own place and room to do so again is to get a proper sewing table.

1. I wish i knew how to sew.
I stop wearing an article of clothing when a button falls off. :(

3. It's easy, but nobody teaches young people anymore.
My mother, sister and I can all sew (well, sis sort of can) and we're the only non-senior people I know IRL who can not just mend but make clothes (and I can do things with no pattern, even.) Though most ex-military guys can at least put a button on or to put a patch on, and some of them can hem their own pants, which I guess undoes a bit of a gender stereotype.

I really wish there was more emphasis on teaching practical skills like sewing, cooking and basic home and car repair to young people, because it's silly to pay somebody to hem pants or something easily easy.

4. oh i wung it in the military but i often paid others to do it for me.
I paid for somebody to shine my combat boots like glass with the water and cigarette lighter. I can actually sew a button but I will put if off and just not wear that article of clothing. I sure wish i could hem or even make clothing, though.

I agree with your post.

5. I used to be very good at hand sewing.
Everyone in my school district was required to take home-ec in middle school, so I learned to sew and got good at it.

Can't do it now to save my life, but I do know that it's painful to do if you're all hunched over. :(

6. I can sew!
In college I was so tall and skinny I even had to make my own winter coats.

I hope you get your sewing table. I know it will make a difference.
