Just wondering if I should head on over for lunch on all the food samples. Then again, it's probably ridiculously crowded. Then again, I could procrastinate about gradin this stack of lab reports for another hour or two. And they have pecan pies this time of year. And I need to get Al Gore's video. And I'm bored.
It was a zoo and I think the idea of cow pushers is brilliant!
The samples were delicious. I loved the pineapplie teriyaki meat balls and always love the wild rice and chicken casserole. I even bought a package of the latter because I don't feel like cooking this weekend. The artichoke jalapeño dip was great but I'd never buy that big a package unless it was for a party.
I even remembered to get everything on my list so I won't need to go back -- except I decided to wait until payday to buy An Inconvenient Truth.
5. Oh, yeah. There were a lot of men circling the sampling carts.
It was funny to watch them -- I was standing with one old dude eating a BBQ chicken wing and I told him about the meatballs. He practically ran over to where they were! Took care of lunch for me.
6. There was a band of children making the sampling cart rounds
last time I was there. They were scouting the isles with a leader pointing the way to each new cart. I'm sure they flipped out when they saw the European Dessert Sampler table, where I'd just come from. They also had awesome pumpkin bread that day.
and we compared notes. Just about the same products except that they had tiramisu and we had pumpkin cheesecake. They sold all the tiramisu at my Costco so they switched to the cheesecake. They also had the frozen Cheesecake Factory pumpkin cheesecake out for sampling. I think I liked the latter better, but they were both awesome!
8. I love Costco, but I tend to avoid it on weekends during December..
It's just too crowded for me.
I'll have to make trip sometime in the next two weeks. Need laundry soap, butter and I have to take two or three bottles of A-1 Steak Sauce with Mr. Wonderful and myself when we leave for Ireland on the 15th.
A friend of ours who went back home about 10 years became addicted to A-1 Steak Sauce when he lived here in Chicago. Every time one of us goes, we always have to bring Seamus at least two bottles of it.
