11. Oh, I'm a bit embaressed...
The DiVinci Code.

:eyes: It was fun for what it is. Not serious literature, but a thriller.

My last intellectual read? George Orwell's 1984. Alice Walker's The Color Purple and Harper Lee's To Kill A Mockingbird- all pieces I read once a year to remain humbler and thoughtful.

in the late 80's...I'm still struggling with the Tommyknockers...well, not struggling, I don't have the desire to read it...I have been cheating, and reading The Similliron, by JRR. Tolkien....:D

what I admire the most, is the dedication on backstory, history, creating different languages, and ethic backgrounds for a lot of his characters/races...the dedication to devote so much time to a task like that, is very damn admirable...:)

As for fantasy novels, I prefer RA Salvatore, or Troy Denning, but both of late, have been petering out a bit, especially RA Salvatore...but I need to branch out more....

on edit:clarify/spelling...
