5. Please don't laugh at the stairs. If my SIL's dog had had stairs, she might not have jumped off the
bed, breaking her neck. She died instantly.

Tiny breeds can benefit from stairs. The dogs don't realize they are so tiny and insist upon jumping onto sofas and beds that are too high for them. Getting down presents a dangerous situation.

6. My aunt had a toy poodle that broke her leg
jumping off her lap. I know someone else who had a toy poodle that suffered brain damage after falling off a bed. Those small dogs are just fragile.
