How do I register a domain name (I dont own it )that expired 3 days ago? How long is the grace

period that the previous owner has to renew it. Can I pre-register with a domain website to scoop it up? I dont mind doing this is if its legit. Any advice??? T

1. It varies per registrar...

Normally about 30 days. Sometimes they hold off and release them in big chunks. There isn't a concrete answer to this question. You could run a WHOIS on the name and see if that list the registrar. Then contact them to ask.

quite a bit. Check Network Solutions or Canaca.com (they offer a $10 registration for a year, renewals go up to $20) -

The only problem with contacting either of these companies is that response time really varies - if WHOIS shows the domain has expired, try to register it and see what happens, then contact the particular registrar you're using and tell them what's up.
