and was digging in my purse to find my phone with the other. The keys dropped, hit the floor of the elevator and bounced into the 2" crack between the elevator and the floor.

I guess I should have taken the stairs. :(

19. Dang! A two inch crack! Sounds dangerous.
I remember someone was fiddling with her engagement ring and it dropped into the elevator shaft... but keys?

That's damned unlucky! Are you getting any help?

You don't need this on a Monday (or any other day).

I'm claustrophobic and take the stairs whenever I can. Now I have a new reason not to want to go into elevators.

What floor were you on when they went down. I wonder if they could hang up on anything?

Dark star is great - especially if you have a warped sense of humor. VERY low budget. - worth watching just for the props. The elevator sequence is so funny.

Are you old enough to remember these open grill iron elevators?

We had one of them in a timeshare in Scotland.

You can lose a lot of keys out those myriad holes!

41. Is there an organization for Phobics Anonymous?
I'm OK on bridges, but tunnels get to me if they're very long. We're supposed to take the Chunnel between England and France next May. We'll be on a train, and I get motion sick on trains, so I'll take some anti-nausea something.

Heights used to be a problem, but since then, I've been to a lot of landmarks like the Empire State Building and I was fine.

I've also improved with airplane travel due to a wonderful course I took with U. S. Air years ago. They taught us relaxation techniques and I'm much better.

Drawing blood also used to get to me, but I'm pretty much OK with it now.

82. I'm really not sweatin' it, Peg. I have to take anti-nausea drugs on any train,
boat, or in a car. Otherwise, I can't read. It's an inner-ear thing that I've had since I was a child.

A couple of years ago in August, I visited my aunt in San Rafael, CA. The weather was mild in Portland when I left, and the first day of the visit, there was a slight earthquake. On the second day, the temperature shot up to well over 90 degrees. I had taken the Marin Airporter airconditioned bus to her condo... no problem. Then, when I got there, I found out she keeps her airconditioning at 80 degrees (she had an old, sick husband, now passed on).

So, I sweated through the week, swam in her pool a couple of time and had a beer or two so I could sleep. Finally, the visit was over, so I hopped on the Marin Airporter bus to return to the airport. THE BUS HAD NO AIRCONDITIONING AND THE DRIVER SAID HE WAS UNABLE TO OPEN THE WINDOWS. OK, this shouldn't be TOO bad, I thought. I had a little battery driven fan, a cold drink and a book.

Then, we got to the Golden Gate Bridge --- and there we sat for MORE THAN AN HOUR WITH THE MOTOR IDLING BUT NO AIRCONDITIONING. I stripped off my jacket and shoes, rolled up my sleeves and rolled down my socks. Then I fished out my spray bottle of water and just made a general nuisance of myself until we started to roll again.

Wow! That was an wonderful visit!

25. I accidentally put my keys in the kitchen garbage can -- in a rush one day.
Then I tied up the bag and took it into the garage, and dumped it in the waste receptacle.

That was the last thing I had to do before getting into the car and going on a 150 mile trip. Oh, oh... my keys were missing. Searched the whole house, and my husband thought he'd check the garbage. I kept telling him... NO>>>NO>>>NO Guess what?

Needless to say, when we finally figured out what happened, and retrieved the keys and key ring, my husband had his verbal ammunition against me which is good for a lifetime!

In peace,

Radio_Lady

28. Mine fell out of my pocket about 10 years ago while I was sledding
with my kids. We had about 2 feet of snow and I couldn't find them anywhere.

I got them back in March when the snow was finally gone because I had a store discount card on them and they had a key return service.

Since then, I have so much stuff on my keychain, I worry about the strain on the ignition.

"Oh, my keys are at the bottom,
bottom of an elevator shaft" (da-ding-ding-twang)
"I heard them hit the basement floor
It was all just as quick as that" (a-twang-ding-ding-da-ding)

Take me to the bridge!
"If it can happen,
Yes, if it can happen,
If it can happen
It happens to me"

(All kidding aside, I hope they're easily retrievable.)

77. Heeee
1. You know who is going to get you know whatted right where it counts and will beg for mercy. Which will not be forthcoming.

2. You'll get a phone call from someone begging you to work with them. Double what you're making now and full benefits.

3. You Know Who is going to send you flowers and beg for your...*ahem*...forgiveness.

4. There's going to be a massive sale on chocolate-covered espresso beans. For...well...you know for whom.

Who are you thinking of? Oh, gotcha. I may be ready to move on. We'll see. ;)

And yes, there will be no mercy for the alleged human referenced in #1.

Espresso beans. I completely forgot to get those for Christmas. It's a must-have if EVERYONE is to get what they deserve. hehehe

The pepper spray still hasn't exploded, either. :P I'm not sure when the management will get off their collective bums and do something about it. :eyes:
