Good news about Mr. Writer

Good news: Mr. Writer isn't even officially in layoff status yet with his company (that actually starts Monday) and he already has located three job possibilities within the same company! :woohoo: I am so proud of him!

Also, I can't say enough how valuable it is to have a great group of friends. In my 31 years, I have never NEVER developed as strong and as loyal friendships as I have now. I guess it helps that Mr. Writer works with virtually all of them. :P They have offered so much support and have helped him locate job openings, and have provided him with contact information for internal opportunities. He is so blessed not to have been stranded after enduring the shock of an unexpected layoff. (Every one of our friends was shocked, as well. No one can really make sense of why they laid him off. Even his boss. :shrug:)

Whatever good karma you have, please send it Mr. Writer's way. I hope he can find a job within the same company. He has been with this company for nine years, enough to have earned four weeks of vacation a year, plus all of the benefits of working for this firm. It would be good if he could maintain all of that.

Otherwise, I am excited that it's working out so quickly for him. I am so proud of him! :bounce:

It seems there's been a lot of bad news for many DUers lately, and I remember your post when you found out he was getting laid off and felt so bad for both of you. So, I'm glad things are working out. :bounce:

At the very WORST, he finds a job outside the company in the next month (there are plenty of those available in our area, too) and collects a rather large severance check.

I agree, there has been bad news for many DU'ers lately. It would be good to have some real good news for once. :)

Hope it all pans out for you guys.

This year has been very difficult for me personally, and to see Mr. Writer also go through a difficult time has been very difficult. It would be nice to see something work out - for once this year!
