Poll question: Chocolate preference?
I like all kinds of chocolate, but my favorite is dark; the darker, the better.

8. There is a chocolatier (sic)
in Vienna, West Virginia called "Holl's Chocolates", which is quite marvelous.

They ship world-wide, and they even have a good line of Sugar Free chocolate which I found tasted identical to the natural version.:applause:

My chocolate preference is "yes, please." Dark, rich, milk, whatever. Just...chocolate, please.

16. Depends on my mood...
sometimes I prefer dark chocolate, sometimes I want milk chocolate. Sometimes I don't care.

Right now, believe it or not, I don't want any chocolate.

Maybe it's time to send for the nice young men in their clean white jackets to come and take me away, ha ha, ho ho, he he...

36. Heh...
If I could find my camera, I'd take a picture of my kitchen table for you.

If you were up to your elbows in it, you wouldn't want any, either. Yesterday I worked on the tamales and finished up the peppermint patties, made the coconut patties, started the fudge and crossed my fingers.

This morning I finished the tamales -- key word there is 'finished'....they're ALL DONE!!!!

:woohoo::woohoo::woohoo::woohoo:

I have no idea how many I made, but....day-um.

And I finished the fudge and made another batch of peanut brittle because 1. My candy thermometer died when I made the first batch -- or rather, I discovered that my candy thermometer was dead and, 2. The first batch of peanut brittle has been eaten.

Tomorrow I start on more cookies and bake Darrel's birthday cake. Nothing fancy, though. No dinosaurs or Mickey Mouses or Ninja Turtles or X-men. White cake with cool whip frosting and sliced strawberries.

The US allows it to be called chocolate if it has a certain amount of cocoa butter in it.

I don't know where to get Suchard milk chocolate in the U.S. My sister brought some back from Switzerland once, and it was the BEST GODDAMN CHOCOLATE I have ever had.

Would somebody PLEASE PM me if they know where I can get it? Internet or mail order would be fine with me.

Thank you.

38. I recently had some that had a strong coffee flavor
It was fantastic. My sister got it at Target, and gave me some. I do not recall the name of it, only that it was relaxing and uplifting at the same time.

Chocolate. The world's perfect food.

46. Probably Choxie.
Target's version of "Godiva" but with a lot more flavors and combinations. And DAMNED good. That company puts chocolate with everything including ginger! I gave a three-pack of Choxie bars to friends as thank you/happy holiday gifts and they all LOVED it. Choxie rocks!

44. Dark chocolate (preferably Swiss)
There is a swiss chocolate bar, (the brand, I think, is just Chocolat Suisse), 72% cocoa, with flecks of cocoa bean throughout. It's heaven.

I used to agree, before I lived in Switzerland, that "the darker the better". But the Swiss don't mess about with their chocolate. I once brought a 99% cocoa bar to a dinner party and was basically laughed out of the room. That stuff is BITTER. I can go up to 92% and then I just don't really like it anymore. But the Swiss man, they can just eat anything. It was so funny in the grocery store. People would be in line with their weekly groceries: a head of brocolli, some cabbage, a bigass hunk of cheese, yummy bread, and literally 12 blocks of chocolate. And it was just totally normal as a necessary weekly staple. I swear, they are the healthiest people ever, and they eat more chocolate than anyone else in the land.

Jean Louise
