Greetings from South Jordan Utah!
This place is terrifyingly white. :scared:

But at least my SO's family is nice. It feels good to be in a family setting again...college kinda makes you yearn for stuff like that. We're going to a wedding tomorrow, so that will be fun :)

I was sitting in a Starbuck's where Kyle works just people watching, and I swear, there was a 10:1 ratio of blondes to non-blondes; Kyle also said many just bleach their hair :puke:

6. This is my first time here-- I'm going back to Boston for 1 more semester...
...before I make the move here. From what I've seen, where we'll be living downtown near the UofU campus is MUCH better and I feel 10000000% more comfortable there than I do here in the 'burbs. Even in cracker McCracker Boston there is more diversity than here!

And I've seen so many fucking kids with parents that are Kyle and I's age-- that really is weird. I've already gotten weird glances because I have a denim jacket I wear with a rainbow ribbon and a few anti-Bush buttons :rofl:
Fuck em if they can't deal with me.

9. Oh my dear Matcom...
I'm going to set the stage for you because this Sunday is probably going to be the single most awkward day of my life at his family gathering.

They all know I'm a biologist, poet, and borderline communist. They all know Kyle and I are not getting married until we're financially secure AND we don't want kids. All his sisters are married, have kids, and had them at OUR AGE.

They all think I'm fair game.



God, why don't I have weed--I need it!!

I grew up in Utah and you need to fight to keep your own religion (or lack thereof!)

That being said...Utah is a beautiful state and I still miss it alot!
