Ok LeftyMom - 'splain this one to me ...
"I'm watching HGTV's show "Take Home Chef". A woman in a supermarket who was surprised by the chef made this statement: "My brother-in-law is a vegetarian, but he will eat organic beef - that is, free-range beef". I didn't know there was such a thing as organic and non-organic beef.
So I guess if it's organic beef - it can remain on the vegetarian short-list?

1. Organic beef comes from a cow that has led a free-range life on an organic diet.
IT IS NOT VEGETARIAN.

Whomever said that is a motherfucking asshat. Not as much as the huge motherfucking asshat that calls themself a vegetarian while eating a dead cow.

4. Yeah, well, you know Haruka and I don't agree too often
and I would leave out the asshat terminology...but she is right completely and absolutely.

I never even understand the people who call themselves vegetarians while eating chicken.

5. Yeah, like I eat fish. I call myself a pescarian.
Why would I call myself a vegetarian, if I'm not? That's just stupid and makes it hard for real vegetarians and vegans.

6. Seriously
I don't understand how the girl in the show could utter that with a straight face. Beef is the king of all meat, what would that be, a beefatarian (like lacto-ovo or pollo vegetarians)? It just don't make no sense. Maybe she confused organic diet with vegetarian?

8. HGTV should learn to edit out the idiots.
Vegetarian has nothing to do with organic nor non-organic. The key word is beef (meat) in this case.

9. I know!!!!
I was rolling on the floor. And I thought on the basic cellular level - every living thing is organic - free-range or not.

How's the doggie doing??

11. Okay, two issues here
1. Is organic or free range meat acceptable to vegetarians? No way.

2. What's the difference between organic and non-organic beef? It's the feed and the drugs used. There used to be husbandry differences as well, but these are watered down to the point that many organic animal products are factory farmed but just fed a non-GMO organic feed.

Long story short, this person is an absolute idiot. Vegetarians don't eat cow, whether it's shamefully abused or comparatively spoiled.
