Question for next year: do Festivus poles HAVE to be aluminum?
I understand that the original Festivus pole was aluminum, BUT...

I sell chainlink fencing.

There are 71 1-5/8" line posts in a bundle.

If Festivus poles could be galvanized steel, the line posts in one bundle would bring Festivus joy to 71 families that may never have known it before.

So what say ye?

1. Depends, how's the strength to weight ratio compared to aluminum?
That's why Frank chose aluminum in the first place.

3. Strength to weight is real good. Better than aluminum.
How strong does something you're not going to load have to be?

2. I think maybe it does.

The Festivus Pole
The tradition begins with a bare aluminum pole, which Frank praises for its "very high strength-to-weight ratio."

7. Diluting Festivus?
Christmas started in June. Then, some end of the year bookkeepers switched it to December. Then, Madison Ave types changed it to Xmas for less print space. People here in Florida decorate palm trees. It just won't stop. Now, that I've abandoned Christmas and embraced Fetivus your going to change it. My god, is nothing sacred.

9. Madison Avenue didn't change it, early Christians did

10. I don't think there is a Festivus Inspector.
If there were, it would be one of my relatives, so actually I'm sure there isn't one.
