Who found love again post divorce?
Going through one now. Sucks, even though it's for the best. I am only 33, but it's so hard thinking about getting out there again.

How did you meet your 2nd true love and did it last this time?

1. It can and does happen again...
My divorce was about as complicated and messy as possible- Hopefully, you're not going through anything like I did.

But the end result is the same- At the time, I couldn't imagine allowing myself to have deep feelings for another person ever again. I more or less decided to live out the rest of my life as a single, and was at peace with the idea. But it didn't work out that way- I've since started a relationship, but I've been adamant that I want things to go sloooooowwwwwllllly.

7. I could have written most of your post
I swore I'd NEVER let anyone get that close to me again, but I have. Actually, they've become even closer. It just takes the right person.

8. Indeed, it does take the right person...
Admittidly, I'm a path-of-least-resistance kind of person (AKA Doormat) so I'm probably predisposed to pairing up with control freaks. It took me some time and therapy to get over a lot of the issues and effects of my divorce and the accompanying "outing" that my ex sought to provide. Of course, I wish I could say that I'm blameless in the matter but.......

3. I swore I'd never get married again!

But I did. No it didn't last.
I seem to fall in-love again when I've decided that I'm never going to meet anyone and stop looking. In the past it was either feast (pick one) or famine (nobody wants me) so obviously I don't have any suggestions. I could use a few myself.

4. I did, but it wasn't "again" ... it was for the first time....
Met him at work. It lasted two years, but then he died at 4:00am November 20, 1976 -- and I still cry when I talk about him. I can still feel his body heat, see his smile, his blond curls, and hear his laugh. It surprises me how alive memories can feel all these years later.

5. I have found love since but nothing lasting...
5 years out for me. Divorce was two of these.

I posted to give you a  and to say that whether or not relationships come quickly your way...it all DOES feel better with time. Take time to get to know who YOU are outside of that relationship. The process can be very rewarding. I have learned that i LIKE to be alone with myself so much that i will sometimes pass on a night out. And they don't come around that often (three kids here) ;)

When you do date again remember that the relationship is a clean slate. It is sometimes hard not to carry over from a place left off.

I never realized how difficult divorce could be until i found myself in one. I really learned a lot, about myself and life.

I am sorry that your in this tough place.

12. That's Inspiring Fed Up
as someone who is at the end of the line in his relationship right now it is good to read your thoughts that becoming comfortable with yourself is possible.
after 17 years it is hard to think what that might be like

9. Oh, hell, yeah.
I found it when I was about your age, too. It's still awesome, over a decade later.

10. My husband ;)
He was 20 when divorced. 29 now. Been with me for 6 years.
We are commited to being together as long as possible.I won't say forever; because you never know what will happen; but I see myself growing old with him.
Oh, btw technically we are not married; but we are to us.
