7. Torn. Love Ricky Gervais and Steve Coogan.
Like, approaching Pretend Boyfriend level love.

Can't stand Ben Stiller and Robin Williams, not to mention Owen Wilson.

But, I kind of want to see it and probably will when it's out on DVD. And, I'll probably like it even with them in it.

15. Liked it.
I'm technically on vacation, but have two parishioners in ICU, and couldn't find a preacher for Sunday. So, I'm doing hospital visits, and just spending the week going to movies and hangin' with the critters. Yesterday, "Night at the Museum"

Tonight, "The Good Shepherd". Even bigger

Tomorrow, "We Are Marshall". I'll let ya know.

16. we went and it was good
Edited on Thu Dec-28-06 02:25 AM by leftofthedial
an enthusiastic thumbs up from my daughter

I also enjoyed it. It didn't change my life or anything, but it was amusing.

MILD SPOILER ALERT

I didn't know there would be the divorced parent custody issue in the plot. That was kind of a plus for divorced dad taking his kid to the movie.

21. I Loved It Except For That Subplot
I felt the subplot was entirely unnecessary. This was a great fantasy/popcorn movie and it seemed like the subplot was tacked on to it. I could have enjoyed the craziness just as well without knowing why Stiller's character was desperate for a job.

But more than that, I hated the "loser dad," aspect.

17. The scene where Stiller
psychoanalyzes Atilla the Hun was worth the price of admission for me.

It was better than I expected, if you like any Ben Stiller movie (or even his guest appearance as Tony Wonder on Arrested Development), you'll like this one. Oh, and Robin Williams makes a REALLY convincing Teddy Roosevelt.

I actually expected it to be funnier than it was. A clever idea. Borat was much funnier, but you can't take the 10 year old to that!
