Can you name some songs about money?
I am trying to think of something like that for my myspace page. All I can think of is "Money Changes Everything" by Cyndi Lauper.

4. The Money Song from Monty Python's Flying Circus

Presenter Good evening and welcome to 'The Money Programme'. Tonight on 'The Money Programme', we're going to look at money. Lots of it. On film, and in the studio. Some of it in nice piles, others in lovely clanky bits of loose change, some of it neatly counted into fat little hundreds, delicate fivers stuffed into bulging wallets, nice crisp clean cheques, pert pieces of copper coinage thrust deep into trouser pockets, romantic foreign money rolling against the thigh with rough familiarity, (starting to get excited) beautiful wayward curlicued banknotes, filigree copperplating cheek by jowl with tumbling hexagonal milled edges, rubbing gently against the terse leather of beautifully balanced bank books (collects himself) I'm sorry. But I love money. All money. I've always wanted money.(getting worked up again) To handle. To touch. The smell of the rain-washed florin. The lure of the lira. (standing on the desk) The glitter and the glory of the guinea. The romance of the rouble. The feel of the franc, the heel of the Deutschmark. The cold antiseptic sting of the Swiss franc, and the sunburnt splendor of the Australian dollar.

(sings to piano accompaniment) I've got ninety thousand pounds in my pajamas.
I've got forty thousand French francs in my fridge.
I've got lots and lots of lira,
Now the deutschmark's getting dearer,
And my dollar bill could buy the Brooklyn Bridge.

Five singers (male) in Welsh (women's) national costume come on. A Welsh harpist joins them.

All There is nothing quite as wonderful as money,
There is nothing quite as beautiful as cash,
Some people say it's folly
But I'd rather have the lolly
With money you can make a smash.

Presenter There is nothing quite as wonderful as money
There is nothing like a newly minted pound

All Everyone must hanker
For the butchness of a banker
It's accountancy that makes the world go round.

Presenter You can keep your Marxist ways
For it's only just a phase.

All For its money, money, money,
Makes the world go round.

(a shower of paper notes descends)
Money, money, money, money, money, money!

which was a Wikipedia link. Which just proves my point that Wikipedia sucks. I should be beaten for ignoring my own standards and using it!

on edit: There. I went to a proper site and updated the original post. My standards are relieved.

23. Hmmmmm. Drawing blanks here -
Does the Beatles "Tax Man" count? Irving Berlin wrote "Puttin' on the Ritz" but a rock group did it later - can't remember who, but it was great.

Ah! Hubby just woke up long enough to tell me that Taco did the cover of "Ritz"!

27. 'Paper Money' — Montrose
I play the game of a rich boy
I buy everything I can
My bankroll is a foot thick
I'm a wealthy man
A million dollar reserve note
is right there in my hand
And I can't stand to think
it's all that I've got

Take away all my silver
Take away all my gold
And hand me a stack of paper
Paper money don't hold
Paper money don't hold

Well, you act as though you don't remember
The way it all used to be
Now one man, he locks up the money
Another man holds the key
My car cost me fifteen grand,
Some say I got a deal
Melt it down, I've got a thousand pounds of junk
And ten dollars worth of steel

Take away all my silver
Take away all my gold
And hand me a stack of paper
Paper money don't hold
Paper money don't hold

29. "Money Can't Buy It" - Annie Lennox
Money can't buy it... baby
Sex can't buy it... baby
Drugs can't buy it... baby
You can't buy it... baby

I believe that love alone might do these things for you
I believe in love alone yeah yeah

Take the power to set you free
Kick down the door and throw away the key
Give up your needs...
Your poisoned seeds
Find yourself elected to a different kind of creed

I believe that love alone might do these things for you
I believe that love alone might do these things for you
I believe in the power of creation
I believe in the good vibration
I believe in love alone yeah yeah

Won't somebody tell me what we're coming to
It might take forever till we watch those dreams come true
All the money in the world won't buy you peace of minde
You can have it all but you still won't be satisfied

Money can't buy it... baby
Sex can't buy it... baby
Drugs can't buy it... baby
You can't buy it... baby

Now...
Hear this
Pay attention to me
'cause I'm a rich white girl and it's plain to see
i got every kind of thing that the money can buy
Let me tell you all about it
Let me amplify
I got DIAMONDS...
You heard about those
I got so many that I can't close my safe at night in the dark
Lying awake in a sick dream

I believe that love alone might do these things for you
I believe that love alone might do these things for you
I believe in the power of creation
I believe in the good vibration
I believe in love alone yeah yeah

37. We're in the Money
"We're in the Money," lyrics by Al Dubin, music by Harry Warren (from the film Gold Diggers of 1933, 1933)

We're in the money, we're in the money;
We've got a lot of what it takes to get along!
We're in the money, that sky is sunny,
Old Man Depression you are through, you done us wrong.

We never see a headline about breadlines today.
And when we see the landlord we can look that guy right in the eye

We're in the money, come on, my honey,
Let's lend it, spend it, send it rolling along!

Oh, yes we're in the money, you bet we're in the money,
We've got a lot of what it takes to get along!
Let's go we're in the money, Look up the skies are sunny,
Old Man Depression you are through, you done us wrong.

We never see a headline about breadlines today.
And when we see the landlord we can look that guy right in the eye

We're in the money, come on, my honey,
Let's lend it, spend it, send it rolling along!
