Today in history 12-28
1968 - The three day Miami Pop festival took place, the first major rock festival held on the East Coast of the US, with Chuck Berry, The McCoys, Joni Mitchell, Fleetwood Mac, Marvin Gaye, The Turtles, The Box Tops, Steppenwolf, Three Dog Night, Pacific Gas and Electric, Procol Harum, Canned Heat, Iron Butterfly and The Grateful Dead.

Not performing that weekend, a lot of other people.

1983 - After a heavy day's drinking Beach Boy Dennis Wilson drowned while swimming from his boat moored in Marina Del Rey, California. He had been diving to bringing up personal items that he had previously thrown overboard. Some accounts say that Dennis brought up a wedding photo of him and ex-wife Karen Lamm from their first wedding, and then he dove again, but didn’t resurface.

Dennis was the only one of the Beach Boys who learned to surf, unfortunately, he never learned to breath under water.

1975 - At a gun show in Spokane, Wash., guest Ted Nugent has a gun pulled on him by an attendee. David Helfer is wrestled to the ground by the audience and security guards and later charged with "intimidating with a weapon."

When asked to comment on the situation, Nugent exclaimed; "It was fucked up man. Here I was just minding my own business when this dude comes over and points a gun at me. I didn't have any weapon and was basically unarmed. What kind of fucking no good coward would try to shoot something that was in its own habitat, minding its own business and had no means of self protection except to maybe run away?"

Ted then found 25 baby bunnies and kicked them to death.

1999 - 'N Sync announce that they have settled their legal differences with former manager Louis Pearlman and are now free to release their second album under their own name.

A week later no one gave a shit.

1999 - Puff Daddy holds a press conference to protest his innocence on a stolen weapon charge. He claims to have nothing to do with a New York club shooting that left three people injured.

After the press conference, all the microphones and cameras used in the press conference go missing. They are later found in trunk of Puff Daddy's Lexus (which turns out to be stolen).

1946 - Happy Birthday to Edgar Winter.

Edgar is the brother of Johnny. Between the two, they have to share one pigment of Melanin. Edgar gets it every other weekend, Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

2001 - A district court judge reduced a charge against Marilyn Manson. The original charge, fourth-degree criminal sexual misconduct, was reduced to disorderly conduct. A second charge, a misdemeanor count of assault and battery, remained unchanged. The incident stemmed from a concert on July 30, 2001 in Clarkston, MI, in which Manson allegedly assaulted a security guard.

Security guard? LOL.. Sorry pal, if you let Marilyn Manson assault you without kicking his scrawny ass, then you need to get a new job. Next thing you know, you'll be letting Prince smack ya around like a wet towel.

That's it...ran out of time. :hi:

it just irritates the heck out of me when people at work interrupt my day with work-related crap. :grr:

I'm only there for the money, it isn't as though I actually enjoy any of that, or care about their problems, questions, or confusion.

:)
