Who knew cheese fondue was so freaking expensive?
Guyere, Emmentaler, Vacherin, fresh nutmeg, dry white wine...

It had better be good, that's all I can say.

1. Fondue rocks the house.
Had it last week. Wish I could eat it every night!

3. I've never made it, but we received a fondue pot for Christmas.
I bought all the ingredients for it today, and we went to a specialty cheese shop to get what was called for.

4. I hope so too!
I'm making it for our New Year's supper tomorrow - I bought the good cheeses, some reasonably inexpensive wine to add to it, and some not-so-inexpensive wine to drink with it. :)

5. I saw a recipe earlier today for an apple-cheddar fondue
made with sauteed apples, cheddar cheese, and hard apple cider. I think I'd like to try that one soon--it sounds good, and should be a little cheaper than those expensive swiss cheeses :)

The thing about fondue, though, is that even when it's bad it's good--I mean, it's melted cheese, what can be bad about that? :D And even if the melted cheese somehow ends up unpleasant to eat, there's always the expensive wine and what's left of the inexpensive wine to enjoy ;)

Anyway, good luck, and enjoy :)

6. You are so right.
And we have a whole cookbook of fondue recipes, so some will undoubtedly be less expensive than others.
