Great antiwar movie on Turner's now
Shenandoah, Jimmy Stewart its a civil war movie but carries a strong antiwar message stressing the futility and destruction of war. He plays a farmer just trying to stay out of the fighting. He does a great scene near the end at his wifes grave telling her about the war. Two great lines: What do you do with dead soldiers? and This war is like all the others the undertakers are winning it.
Check it out if you can.

1. Not quite
I don't think it's as stridently anti-war as you make it out to be. It makes it clear that sometimes a moral stand is fighting for a cause -- whether it's freedom or your family.

But it is a great movie.

3. AMC ruined AMC...
...when they decided to show commercials, and to concentrate on newer movies...I haven't turned them on since...
