what's the damned deal with magazine subscription rates?
Why is there one rate if you order online, a different rate if you order through the card in the magazine and a different rate if you renew? Why are "professional rates" about 25% the cost of "regular" rates? Seriously, put a Dr. in front of your name on some survey and you'll get amazingly cheap magazine offers. Don't even get me started on the different rates if you go through a subscription service. I'm ready to tell them all to fuck off.

3. We just received a copy of Rolling Stone
and we don't even have a subscription. My husband got his PhD in March and it was addressed to "Dr. ________".

I don't know if we will continue to get it for free or if they will send us a bill.

We still don't know why we got it.

5. We got 6 months of the San Francisco Chronicle for $15

Wednesday through Sunday. We were paying a wad for just Sunday delivery, let it expire, and waited until one of these offers happened.

6. I lucked out 3 yrs ago with Readers Digest
and got 4 years for $20! Now I cannot find that offer anywhere. I wonder if I can get the $9/yr gift subscriptions just for myself?
