8. I'm so glad your car is fixed, billy!
My car sustained $8800 damage 3 months after I bought it. Fortunately, the person who hit me had great insurance, and they recommended a fabulous body shop. You can't tell it was in a wreck at all.

13. We had a lot of that lately.
We had a period of a month or so during April when it didn't rain at all, and we just had warm sunshine every day. I was starting to wonder if they would put a drought order on. And then on May Day it poured, and it rained almost every day for the next two weeks, and quite frequently after that too. We had thunderstorms two days ago. The rivers are swollen and fields are flooded, as I saw while I was getting the train to work.

I remember the tropical storms I experienced in 2005 when I was in West Bengal. Wow. Those suckers just come out of nowhere, totally rip the place apart and then disappear as quickly as they arrived. Unreal (to a northern European).
